Ants in my car!

Lots of them. Had my Mazdaspeed3 parked for 4 days and when I started it up there were tiny ants and eggs all over the Dashhawk (it’s a 5" x 3" LCD display of engine parameters.) I don’t know why they wanted to be there, it’s on top of my dash and my car is very clean inside, no crumbs or spills. Anyway, I got home and sealed the Dashhawk unit in a plastic bag, and spent about 30 minutes vacuuming ants; there were a trail of them going from the center vents up to the windshield.

Next day I parked in the sun on purpose to try and drive any remaining ants back into the nice cool ground, and didn’t see any for several days.

Then yesterday I washed the car and there was a bunch of them climbing up the inside of the driver’s door with their eggs, looks like I flooded their nest. More vacuuming, and I left a Terro poison bait in the car. This morning there were a dozen or so ants on the bait, but I rode my motorcycle to work.

I’m sick of ants and I’m sick of having stupid stuff happen to my vehicles. This is the same car that 3 months ago half a maple tree fell on, and it was in the body shop for over a month. :frowning:

Oh God, I pity you about the ants. I found some coming into my house, through a crack in my stairway(I live on the second floor), and I just about had a fit. Used Terro and spray, got rid of them, but also had the exterminator make a visit to spray the cellar, my stairway, and the foundations around the outside.

Then, just yesterday, I found some coming in through a windowscreen, on the second floor where I live no less! More Terro, more spray, and now everytime I have an itch I’m afraid to look, fearing it might be an ant.

I hate ants!!!

Maple syrup?

OK, put a poison ant bait in the car.

2 days go by, no problem.
What’s the hassle, Shmassle?
