Any Americans here planning on voting for Bush?

I’ll vote for Bush as the lesser of two evils.

I see myself voting for Bush at this juncture, but I’ll know for sure when I push the button. The one thing I know for sure is that I’ll be voting for ABK (anybody but Kerry).

Jammer

Another ABK here.

Bush still leading the remaining candidates

Hah! Try this one on for size: Ford v. Carter.

For those who think there couldn’t be a worse thing than Bush, let me remind you that in 1976 we voted in President James “Jimmy” Carter – a man whose heart was as pure as anyone you could ever meet – based largely on the notion that “Anybody is better than that crook, Richard Nixon.” Unfortunately, despite the country’s high hopes, Carter was the most ineffective president of my generation. Carter’s waffling on issues and his ineffectiveness at aligning ANYONE, his own party included, to his game plan led the USA to double digit inflation, massive unemployment, gas lines, and despite his best efforts to bring peace, turmoil in the middle east which led to Iranian insurgents storming our embassy and taking our citizens hostage.

Four years later we voted Ron Reagan into office on the notion that “Gosh, a shark is better than an amoeba at running things.” And we enjoyed 8 years of relative peace and prosperity until the country was forced, via a constitutional amendment, to replace the shark with a remora.

No doubt, we’re stuck with a crappy choice this November. However, if you are under the delusion that a man with no opinion is automatically better than an opinionated man with whom you don’t agree, you could very well be wrong.

I’m afraid that is how everyone I know feels.

Defend him? No. He is a mess as a President, and I abhor the religious-right that he has associated himself with.

But Kerry? No way in hell!

I will vote for Bush (assuming no major shifts happen between now and the election). He’s not as fiscally conservative as I would like, but he’s still far preferrable to Kerry.

I know, I know… You lefties shriek about how evil the current administration is in Bush bashing thread after thread. Yet, still there are some who have the nerve to disagree with your view! It must be horribly frustrating.

The obvious solution is to post more Bush bashing threads. That’ll win us all over!

I’m voting for Kerry. Most educators in FL don’t like either the Shrub (Dubya) or the Hedge (Jeb) because of their “education” plan.

I’ll be happy with being graded as a teacher when I get the opportunity to grade the PARENTS.

I don’t like Kerry, but I’ll probably vote for him since my dislike for him pales in comparison to the shame and revulsion I feel when I think of the Bush/Cheney administration.

I’ve already been compiling sites on moving overseas. Should Bush win again I will probably leave this country… I haven’t been proud to be an American for a very long time. :frowning:

I’m still waiting for the entertainment industry people, who made this statement in 2000, to clear out.

Count me in the ‘hell no’ catagory.

I recently operated a camera for the local repub debates. It took all my willpower not to burst out laughing at the ‘toe the party line’ bull they were spouting.

Yes, I plan on voting for Bush.

I plan on voting for Bush, if only to cancle out some dead guy’s vote. Of course, in 2000 Illinois managed to ‘lose’ my voter registration…

I have been a Republican since I could register. I have voted party slates in every election since. I was a Bush supporter and voter in 2000. I was pro-war in Afghanistan, and pro-war in Iraq.

Until now.

I am a single-issue voter this year, based on War Justification. G.W. clumsily built a case and strategy for war on Iraq that was foolhardy at best, and outright false at worst.

I’m not too thrilled at his domestic decisions, either. He can shove that $300 check I got from the Treasury, and invest in speaking lessons.

I don’t feel disillusioned, I feel betrayed*. And I think everyone else in the GOP should feel that way too.

My state will go solidly Democrat in 2004, just like always. This time I will mournfully be on their side.

I don’t think it’s technically possible to do a worse one.

Barely? How much has he spent already… $128 million or some such insanity?

And I can’t wait to see what he runs on.

Probably a combination of “Only I can save you from the evil freedom-lovin’ terrorists” and “No matter how bad I’ve f**ked things up, John Kerry will do worse”

…a tactic which seems to have suckered a few folks in this thread already.

This will be the first presidential election I can vote in as well…I will definitely not be voting for Bush, but I am not really sure about Kerry either, but there is still a bit of time till November so we shall see.
