WHY has AOL dropped the “date of birth” section from member profiles, and member directory search options?
Too many people were putting Undecided.
Huh! I never noticed that! :::scratching head:::
Maybe to discourage pediphiles?
They did what?
well, glad someone told me.
Hurm… just looked the bastards! and I had a great line there.
how am I supposed to capture the hearts and minds of women now?
It was probibly done to deter some AOL members
from stalking other AOL members a certain age.
Stevie-boy Case, now that he’s a media mogul, thinks he has a social conscience. The dob line is out of the profiles and one must be 13 (by which AOL means Parental Controls have to be set to 13 age level since there’s no way for them to verify ages) to post a profile. This is such a typical AOL half-assed way to go about it.
Actually this has to do with a new law, IIRC. I was reading another post about this, except it was talking about Hotmail and that all Hotmail users under 13 had their account deleted. Sorry, but I don’t have the time to look up a proof of this.
