Any dopers from/currently living in Maine?

I just wondering this cause I don’t think I have encountered a poster from Maine as of yet…am I the only one?

I guess I am the only Maine Doper? Does that make me an endangered species?

I’m close by - Massachusettes. I don’t see that many Mass people here either

I was stationed in New Brunswick (lived south of Bath) for a few months, does that count?

I went to college (Colby) there, and would love to get back, but I’m down south for the time being.

I went to college there as well… U of M (it was UMO at the time). I love Maine! I also have one sister, a brother, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, 4 nephews, and one neice there (all in the Bangor area)… I’d move back there in a heartbeat if there were any work for me (and if Astrogirl wouldn’t be COMPLETELY lost there!).

Sigh I miss Maine!

Jack Batty is up there, but he’s in the SDMB doghouse now, so you may not want to admit knowing him

Arf arf.

I’ve lived in Maine (several different places, from one end of the state to the other) for about 30 years, outstide of a three year stint in California.

I’m in Scarborough, presently.

I was born in Maine and lived in the Farmington area for 14 years before moving away in high school.

Born in Rockland, lived in Wells, Portland and Yarmouth at various times. Still visit parents in Union whenever I can.

Oregon’s a lot like home actually - just a lot less snow.

Despite what it says on my “location tag,” I’m currently esconsed in Bath, Maine.

my legal state of residence is maine, and I consider it home, but my job (technical theatre) takes me all over the country for various periods of time.

i miss the ocean.

I’ve lived in York, Bangor, Brewer and Bethel. I still get up to Bethel fairly often, as my folks have a place there.

No, but I was there- Old Orchard Beach- on Tuesday… It’s a pretty state, much like New Hampshire but with more lobsters and a sales tax.

As and added bonus, you also seem to have a nutjob for Governor.

What’s wrong with Angus?

I live in York County, near Sanford.

Same thing thats wrong with every politician…Which is…uh…umm…not quiet sure. Hey look a dinosaur!

runs out while you all are distracted

Are you saying you were behind his proposal to use state revenues to purchase every 7th grader in the state a laptop computer for their homework? (I bet that didn’t pass) I suppose the Portland Phoenix isn’t the least biased paper I’ve ever read, but he seems as out there as our own Governor, if not more so…

My wife and I were in Maine for less than 36 hours before we went to see a real estate agent. Now we’re saving up to buy our retirement home there (somewhere north of Portland). So maybe in 20 years or so, I’ll be a Maine doper.

My in-laws have a summer-place in Trenton, ME, just on the mainland-side of the bridge to Mt Desert Island.
Grizzwife and I were married in Maine on Mt Desert Island.
