Any eRepublik players out there?

I think it might be a good idea, for low level workers who barely can afford food, generally. On the other hand, they won’t know that we offer that when they’ll apply, then we won’t be able to reduce wages for three days, so only at this point we could negotiate a lower salary + food, and meanwhile, they’ll be on their way to skill 2.

That’s 48 gold, and it seems to me that someone who was willing to invest is missing in the list. Anyway, minus the 5 gold already paid by Raza to create the organization, that’s 43 gold, 20 gold to create the company and 23 of gold of cash, which should be sufficient, from the advices I read.
ETA : that was ** Dosipede ** missing. So, that’s 53 gold, with 48 gold left.

If no one does it by tomorrow morning then I will. I’m working land right now, 1.25 skill at a Q1 factory.

What you’re missing is that people exchange currency A for gold and then gold for currency B. The real exchange rate can only calculated by looking at the value in gold of each currency.

I’m unclear about how the “recent exchange rate” appearing on the MM page is calculated, but it’s meaningless. And the actual offers for direct exchange, when there are any, are major rip-offs (or in the the case of the most used currencies, like USD/RON, where there are some legit offers, only minor rip-offs).

The real exchange rate between IDR and SKK is about 1 IDR = 4 SKK.

I assume that’s the way to go, if everybody agree. I’ll send my 5 gold as soon as I’ll have the green light of my banker (I borrowed the money, and, by contract, I must warn him of any gold transfer above 1 gold).

Now, can we definitely decide whether or not we’re going to create a Q1 weapon company in Indonesia? I’m fine with it, personnally.
Also, could Raza check in what province the company should be opened? I assume in an iron-producing province, so that in the case we would open an iron company later , it would be at the same place (in case the province would change hand and we couldn’t export, or couldn’t donate, or something). Normally it shouldn’t really matter, but it has to be a “safe” province, IMO, so that we won’t end up with a license to sell in Indonesia in a now Romanian-owned province or something like that.

Thanks, I’ll do that later in the night (day, for you) or tomorrow.

There’s no real reason to move to Indonesia, except if you want to work for the company and/or if we’re in dire need of workers.

However, yes, you need to go through a neutral country, so, it will cost two tickets.

Apparently, I’ll have to register to read it. Could you sum it up?

Anyway, several examples would be better.

Here’s the OP.

The rest of the quotes will be the replies.

A bunch of stuff about two guys donating 7000 gold to Indonesia and 3000 to Brazil.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I played around a little bit with the numbers and came to about what you had.

Thank you much.

That’s done. I’ve bought the extra storage. By the way, ** Raza**, I like the organization’s avatar a lot.
Now, could everybody send a friendship request to eDOPE?

Request sent. Let me know when you need my money.

Now, for a change, my personal news : what’s great in being active in a small country :

I’m now Secretary of State…for wood income tax management

Now, that’s basically implies to do a tedious task, and nothing more. However, and unexpectedly, it opened to me some of the French government’s forums. And even in those forums, there was some pretty interesting stuff that surprised me. Then came the presidential memo to the government, and I was baffled. With a touch of humour in order that we would remember it’s a game, it was just perfect. Reminder of the President’s electoral program, briefing on internal organization, communication, meetings, accesses, etc… General orientations and priorities, links to required and useful documents, declarations, etc… and so on and so on. That’s the kind of memo you’d receive from some higher up where your work in real life…scratch that…that’s the kind of memo you would like to get from the higher up in real life.
When I joined the game and eFrance, I was pretty much non-plussed, and it looked like it was quite a mess. But with the days passing, I came to realize that there was a lot of work done, and very well done, and very well thought of. the discussion about some change or another amongst many active players and officials were remarkable. I became impressed. At this point, I’m plainly humbled.

Actually, more generally, the longer I play and the more I learn, the more I realize that this game has way more depth than it seemed, that the eWorld is just huge, and that there are an incredible number of things that are happening.

Now, I would certainly like to know what’s going on in those forums I don’t have access to, but much more than that, I’d like to know what’s happening in all other governments of the e-world. It must be fascinating, if it’s at least as interesting as in France, and I assume it probably is. Of course, in very small countries I suppose that there isn’t much happening (though…who knows?), and on the other end, in very large countries it must be entirely different. Possibly more messy because of the lack of “national unity”, possibly better organized because there are more available people, I don’t know. That’s another reason why I would be very curious about how things are handled in different places.
I must say that the general comments I heard (not specifically from French players) about American leadership could be summed up by “abysmally bad” (Their government makes blunder upon blunder, they’re unable to handle anything internally, let alone to get their act together on the international scene, they probably don’t even believe themselves what they say, they seem to act just randomly and without any clear goal, etc…) while on the other hand, for instance, Romania is deemed to have an excellent leadership. And if I believe the comments ** tr0psn4j** posted, it seems that Indonesian leadership has the same reputation. So, I suspect it’s probably not just numbers who made Romania and Indonesia into the two eWorld superpowers (anyway, since they’ve conquered large chunks of the world, numbers are probably for a significant part the results of some level of competence, and not necessarily a cause)
One of us told me some days ago that in the game, he would probably be interested in politics. Now, I would say that I heartily encourage him to do so, since if he’s already interested in it at the first place, he should enjoy the ride Possibly even more so since the electoral process itself doesn’t seem as dull in the eUSA as it is in eFrance . (Not that I have any regret from this point of view, since I don’t think I’d like much the “campaigning/being elected part”. Though this also might be much more interesting than it seems at first glance. Actually, I joined a party that is mosty, though not entirely, a joke and whose main activity is publishing declarations with ludicrous statements and at least one pun by line)

Thanks. That’s interesting, indeed…though I’m not sure what we should think/deduce of it. I don’t really know what useful lessons we should find in this debate, even though there surely are some.

Check this tool out too.

I need to do a little math but I think Romania might be the way to go. Just by looking at Indonesia’s weapons stock (from the tool) they seem to be more flooded with weapons than the Romanians are. But I’ve looked at it for about 10 seconds. Haven’t even considered population of the two countries yet.

Well Indonesia has less stock of Q1 Weapons in their markets.

I don’t know. Since we have apparently enough money to start a company, as soon as possible, I assume. Two players already sent money, and I will do so as soon as I’ll have my banker’s agreement.
Personally, I spent essentially all my time on this game during the last two weeks, but beginning tomorrow I’ll have way less time for it.

I assume that even though we certainly should all look into the company and think about how to run it, we’re going to need an actual manager (or maybe two?), or otherwise it probably will be a mess (taking one week to agree on whether we should keep the stocks and wait for a price rise or sell it now, someone undoing whatever someone else did because he wasn’t aware of the reasons why it has been done, and so on…).

On the other hand, I think there might be specific tasks that could be taken by different people. For instance :

-If someone feels he has a HR soul, he could be in charge of recruiting employees, pampering them so they’ll stay, discuss raises or advantages like food, movng tickets or whatnot, “stealing” them from other employers, etc…

-If someone has a smuggler soul, he could try to find people interested in buying weapons in other countries, posting offers on the main forum, responding to requests, maybe even proposing cheap weapons to governments, etc…

-If it’s decided to speculate on the monetary market with the spare cash we have, someone could so too.

-If we use also the organization as a “doper help” center, someone should be in charge of this too : figuring out what need to be bought at cheap price (food, weapons, house, whatever) and who could buy it, redistributing what we have to other dopers, maybe handing some money to beginners…
As I said, I won’t have as much time in the near future, so I’ll certainly look after the org/company, but I’d rather limit myself to some minor task or another.
And we still have to decide on at least the basics of what the org/company will be used for, how the ownership thing will work, and so on… I think again that a small dedicated board would be useful to do so in an orderly way.

I might give this a shot. Does Indonesia have a forum? I’ll have to wait till we get the company up and running anyway.

I was thinking about this and I think the best way to do it is to buy Q1 houses and loan them to the dopers in need. Once they’ve leveled up enough, they can give it back to us and we can try and sell it for a little bit of profit. Buy at 3 gold and sell at 3.5.

Shoot, even our workers can benefit form this if we can trust them enough. If they’ve got houses, they’ve got more wellness which will boost our productivity.

The problem is that for weapons at least, it seems that the situation can change abruptly from one day to another, or maybe from one hour to another, and we didn’t follow what happened during the previous days.

Frankly, at this point, I’d rather stick to the plan we had and not search for another country/product/whatever…
