OK, I ran those figures in the calculator, and the productivity results were correct.
Thinking that maybe 1 production point might be equal to 2 iron, for instance, so explaining the seemingly high production costs I calculated, I asked two raw material company managers. They confirmed that 1 production point= 1 iron.
They were also unsurprised that Q1 raw companies were selling at a loss, their explanations being :
-Many GMs don’t have a clue about their production cost
-Q1 raw companies aren’t profitable and have to align their price at the level of the prices of Q2,Q3, etc… companies.
I also checked the Indonesian Q1 iron company currently proposing the lowest price, and noticed it employed 8 workers, almost all of them at skill 3. Assuming the salary I had used in my previous tries, its production cost would even higher, and it should be selling at an almost 50% loss.
I guess that vertical integration isn’t a good idea, at least as long as we can’t afford a Q2+ raw material company…
I would exclude immediately West-Siberia, because I understand that Russians are bent on getting back their territory, backed by PEACE. I think that there already has been battles in Russia during the last days, though I didn’t follow closely what was happening (I should check the paper I posted a bit of earlier in the thread, since the author seems to write about all the conflicts going on).
Karnataka also has an hospital, but it doesn’t really matter, since you don’t have to be in the same region to work in a company. So, you can perfectly well stay in whatever province has an hospital and work in whatever province where the company is situated.
Podolia is besides the Polish border.
Out of the three, I think that Karnataka is the safest, being in the middle of Indonesian territory.
I sent my gold. The organization now has 40 gold.
I did a last thing, because it was becoming confusing for me: listing the players , what they gave or intend to :
Chessic Sense is Mike Phoenix . Intend to give 8 gold
Clairobscur is Clairobscur. Intend to give 5 gold.Gave 5 gold
Dosipede is Amphibious Rodent. Intend to give 5 gold.Gave 5 gold
Oredigger 77 is Oredigger77. Intend to give 5 gold.Gave 5 gold
Raza is Raza. Intend to give 10 gold. Gave 5 gold+5 gold to create the org.+5 IDR
tr0psn4J is Shanttu2. Intend to give 8 gold.Gave 8 gold
RandMcNally is RandMcNally. Intend to give 12 gold.Gave 12 gold, 1 USD and food
Nicolas Bourbaki is Nicolas Bourbaki. Didn’t level up yet
fifty-six is ePerson. Didn’t level up yet.
Captain Amazinz is Epicurius but doesn’t seem to play anymore. CapnPitt has asked for an invitation but didn’t join or didn’t mention he joined.
Correct and/or update the list if I forgot someone, made a mistake or something changed.
Also, regarding the 4 Q1 food given by RandMcNally : I assume that ** Nicolas Bourbaki ** still has food left. What about fifty-six /ePerson? Does he need some? CapnPitt, maybe, if he joined?
And finally : a couple posters (I can’t remember whom) and I declined to be in charge of the company, so : who is willing to run it? Maybe two people, since one could replace the other if needed, and communication/decisions should be quite easy between only two players?
Maybe a bit late, but I read the following in the “help” forum, and I thought it’s worth mentioning (it was posted by a player, not an admin, but I’m going to assume it’s true) :
IOW, if I use the org to shout racist comment, or to do something else that is forbidden in the game, ** Raza ** might be banned, if I understand correctly.
Worth remembering.
I read on the French forum that French ministry of defence had to renew its contracts with weapons companies before April 20 (including Q1 weapons). I of course immediately knocked at the door of the guy in charge of military supplies. Roughly, they buy from the lowest bidders. I’ve been told that an acceptable price was in the 0.15-0.18 range. Actually, it seemed to me that the acceptable price had a tendency to become lower as the supply guy realized I didn’t really had a clue about what an acceptable price could be, so there might be some room for bargain (or might be not).
The number of weapons provided can be variable (they’re willing to contract for a small number like 20/week, for instance) , but the delivery must be guaranteed for a number of weeks, and the price fixed, and in FRF (which means that if the FRF and/or our currency change in value, we might get more or less money).
I thought it would be interesting to mention this possibility.
could someone please send an invite to me at memphisred at yahoo dot com? clairobscur tried a few times and I couldn’t get in.
Suggestions for a nation to join would be appreciated as well. English language is necessary for me.
Sent you an invite with tr0psn4j as my name. My eRepublik name is Shanttu2. Let me know if you received it.
I say that the 5 gold should get dumped into the eDope account, since it shouldn’t be a race to send the invite first.
Yeah, I agree.
I intended to do that. Actually, since the org had been just created, I intended to send the invite from the org, but apparently it isn’t possible.
On the other hand, there’s already quite a lot of money sleeping in the org’s account. The company should be already up and runnning, IMO. Regarding deciding what shoud be done with the profits, etc…it could wait (just keep the money in the org until that’s decided). Even deciding who’s going to run it can wait (though I expected, I must say, that would have been an over abundance of volunteers, rather than a lack of them), though preferably not too long. It’s quite easy to buy some material and put some job offers. It can be done in 5 minutes.
But on the other hand, it can’t be started as long as there hasn’t been a agreement about what it’s going to do.
For my part I’m going to support the weapons in Indonesia, just because that’s why has been discussed and calculated, and it took a long time to discuss that, so I’m not too hot about doing that all over again with gifts in south Africa or somesuch.
Could other people who put money in it (plus ** Chessic sense ** who’s going to do so when he’ll be available, I assume) state whether they’re in favour or against it, or propose now an alternative project?
Finally, who has the password of the org, besides ** Raza ** and me? And while I’m at it, since ** Raza** created it, hence will apparently be, per my previous post, held responsible for misuse of the organization’s account (banned himself, for instance), does he still agree with this organization being used in this more or less collective way?
Weapons in Indonesia was our original plan and I think we should still stick to it too.
Yes. Actually, currently you become a citizen of the country as soon as you move there. It seems it will be changed soon, since there’s a new thread asking for citizenship to be implemented almost every day, and even a game administrator posted such a proposal. Changes in he game should apparently be made in May, that could include citizenship (a required time spent living in the country before you can change citizenship).
I think by free, they meant : you can move there if you want to, now. Not : it won’t cost you anything. I’ve been told that the first twenty people who moved there got 1 gold.
Did both of you get an invitation? If yes, under what name are you playing?
Regarding languages, you can play anywhere. The problem comes from the fact that you won’t be able to really participate in the country’s life (political life, for instance, get easily help, contacts and infos about what’s going on) if you’re not talking the local language. To give a basic example, if you were in France when Italy attacked Austria, you probably wouldn’t have known you could go and fight there, and gain XPs. And the game being, IMO, all about interacting with other players, you’re going to lose a lot, both in interest and in opportunities if you can’t use the local language.
If you still aren’t playing and thought of a country (or countries) I could check their forum and their newpapers, that’s generally the best way to know what language players use. I know that France, Spain and latin America (not sure about Mexico) use massively the local language. Iran seems to make a point of it (I mean, they seem to be perfectly satisfied that nobody can read their forum, for instance). At first glance, it seems that many players in the Balkans and central Europe, along with Italy, also use the local language, while English seems to be common in northern Europe and even Russia. I know that Malaysia uses English, for having visited their forum. Besides that, ask away.
As for other factors, frankly, I don’t know. Beginners seem to have a hard time starting in the UK and USA (low salaries). In some countries you’ll have plenty of wars (obviously Romania and Indonesia, for instance), hence of XPs while I doubt you’ll see any in, say, Ireland in the foreseeable future. Same probably for Australia/South Africa who have been made basically puppet states (on the other hand, there are players there intent on regaining sovereignty and working towards this goal,so it might be interesting too). Also, would a large country with plenty of things going on be more interesting for you, or would you prefer a small one where not much happen but where you’ll probably be involved from the get go (the newly created Baltic states don’t even have a president/congress yet, for instance)?
In any case, if you’re unhappy with the place you picked, you’ll be able to buy a moving ticket and leave it in one week or so, when you’ll reach level 6. So, it’s not that important in the grand scheme of things.
OK I am still new and this thred is getting longish.
In game I am ePerson send me an invite if you like.
Are we all moving to the same country?
I have 5 gold to donate who do I send it to?
Can we get a wrap up to we are currently?
Thanks
I didn’t get the invite. I’ve pm’d tr0psn4j with a different email. If I don’t get this next one, I’ll just join.
When I started at my company I got paid 2 IDR a day and I’ve been getting raises to the point where I’m 3.5 a day. I’m confused as to why I’m getting raises nearly every day. I’m not complaining at all, just confused.
The organization is called eDope. At this moment, we haven’t really done anything other than donate some money. We should start working on it soon though.
Also, I’m willing to move and work their once we get started. I have a skill level of 3 in manufacturing and a wellness 98. Not sure how easy it will be to get competent employees.
Maybe your boss is looking closely at the skill level of his workers and gave you a raise when you reached level 1 and then another when you reached level 2?
