Am wondering if any famous castles or towers were built in the period between 1000 AD and 1300Ad (high middle ages/crusades) that were later taken down or destroyed during the period between 1300 and 1500(late middle ages) and were then rebuilt during say the period of 1500-1854
I ask as a history project i am doing work of friedrich nietzches philosophy of eternal reaccurence ie occupy movement and the french revolution(obama admistration and king louis XVII and Marie Antoinette),The cold war and crusades,Enlightenment/Reformation and Classical antiquity,roman empire and American Empire,HIV and the Black Death,medieval inquistion and communist hearings and so on.
The only one that comes to mind is Eileen Donan Castle in Scotland - but it’s way out of that time range. It was destroyed in the aftermath of the Jacobean rebellion (1715?) and rebuilt in the early 1900’s.
