A fantastic and interesting show. I think that I used to watch it on the Learning Channel, when that’s what it was actually good for. I think I also watched Connections with James Burke on the same channel.
It’s been decades since I saw some of the series, but I still remember the giant sewing machine replica they built (passing the bobbin back and forth by hand) and making a light bulb filament out of the graphite from a pencil.
I love the Secret Life of Machines, but “Connections” and “The day the Universe Changed” are right behind “Cosmos” in my favorite non-fiction TV series.
Even so, I’m happy this series has gotten a second life.
