Any flyfisher/tyers out there?

I have recently returned to fly fishing and tying as my main hobby. After a layoff of close to ten years, I’d forgotten how beneficial it is to be outdoors in a beautiful natural setting, focusing solely on finding and fooling a trout into taking an aquatic insect imitation that I tied myself. All worldly cares disappear for a while, and I find the resulting inner peace akin to benefits achieved by meditation, only vastly improved; there is the occasional adrenalin rush of hooking, landing, and releasing a fish, followed by renewed focus and concentration.
I find the intellectual challenge of understanding fish biology and habitat, as well as that of aquatic insects, to also be very stimulating.
Anyone else addicted or even mildly interested?

I started to get into it last summer, and really enjoyed it for a while. However, in mid-August I began to get really tired of never catching anything, threw my rod into the back of the car, and drove home.

That feeling has ever-so-slowly worn off. I resisted my dad’s constant talk about steelhead fishing this winter…but I’m pretty sure I’ll be out there again this year.

Not ketcheninny? It can sometimes take a while to get the techniques down (of which there are many), but once you do, I can almost guarantee you’ll have success. If you can afford it, enroll in a hands-on course, where you actually get to spend time on the water with an expert, you’ll gain years of experience in just a few hours.
We all know, of course that “actually catching fish” is just a small part of the experience…
yeah, right…

Hmmm…maybe I should’a made this “NEKKID” fly fishing…
