Hello everybody!
My father is now retired and has discovered fly-fishing. He actually called it the most enjoyable thing he’s ever done in his life! He gets up every day at five in the morning to go fishing. Personally, I don’t have the patience for more than a half-hour of fishing, but if my dad enjoys it so much, then I’m all for it.
To the point, he eventually would like to get into fly-tying. He’s met some experienced fishermen down at the local fishing hole who’ve taught him a few snippets of knowledge (names of certain flies and whatnot), and he’s bought at least one fly-fishing and -tying magazine I pointed out to him.
But, I’d like to get him a good book that introduces someone to fly-tying, but also goes deeper into this strange past-time. It may help to know that my father is the type of man who jumps into things guns blazing, without doing too much thinking beforehand. So a basic beginners book wouldn’t do.
So, does anybody have any suggestions for good books on fly-tying which my father would enjoy and quickly find useful. Multiple suggestions are welcome, as are links to Amazon pages and other booksellers and publishers where I can find further information about suggestions, and further suggestions.
Thanks ahead!
