For myself, I occasionally enjoy a slightly-under-room-temperature steak meal. A big, juicy, cold rib eye with the grease collecting in little rivers of cloudy white on top. A fully loaded baked potato with slightly dried out sour cream, cool to the touch down to the middle. And a nice, long corn on the cob; fully buttered, with the butter having congealed back to its semi-solid state all over the darn thing.
I discovered I liked this particular combo one night after taking a long phone call during dinner. It was surprising how good it was. In fact, I recommend trying many of your favorite dishes cold at least once!
Chinese food (Gen.Tso’s if you wanna be specific) seems to become just as good if not better sometimes in a totally different taste sensation to the original Warmed version. They both taste great, but for diff. sensations (usually when cold the sauce congeals and gets gooey and such). It’s really good.
I also like Burritos and Pizza Cold too. I tend to like spicier foods when they’re colder than their warmed counterparts.
I once accidentally discovered that cold chicken soup == not good. However, this discovery led me to another important discovery: my microwave was busted.
I loves me some cold, leftover chicken pot pie. Costco sells a house-brand chicken pot pie which is, obviously, enormous … so I end up eating a lot of it cold and I don’t mind at all.
No, it’s just like cold pasta salad but cheesier. Yeah, I like cold mac & cheese. Also I often make casseroles of the boxed au gratin or scalloped potatoes and I usually add peas, mushrooms and tuna, chicken or ham. I like to eat the leftovers of those cold as well.
But there’s frozen sticky date puddings you can get that you’re supposed to heat up in the micro or the oven and they go hot and sticky and toffee-ish.
I love them partially defrosted. The sauce is on top like thick toffee frosting and the cake is fudgy and moist. Mmmm.
