I don’t much like hot meat loaf for dinner. However, cold leftover meat loaf sandwiches are pure ambrosia, the finest meal on God’s green earth. Name some food and drinks that most people like hot but you prefer cold.
There’s nothing better on a lazy Saturday morning than cold leftover pizza and wings. Yum!
It’s not a preference… I *refuse *to eat steamed/cooked carrots, bell peppers, and several other vegetables. I prefer them fresh and cold.
Moved from IMHO to CS.
Leftover pizza, roast beef/pork/chicken, and fried chicken/chicken fried steak. Some things just don’t reheat well. OTOH, burritos, enchiladas, and most casseroles seem to get better with a day or so in the fridge. Everything sorta melds together in starchy, fatty bliss.
I like a cold platter of leftover roast meat with A1 or BBQ sauce, with pickles, cheese, and veggies. That has to be one of my favorite lunches. Fried chicken is simply consumed; leftover chicken fried steak is something of a rarity, but when it exists I consume it in sandwich form.
I get a lot of strange looks for this one, but I rarely eat much of anything on Thanksgiving. I much prefer turkey to be cold, dry, and on a sandwich so I put off the whole ‘Thanksgiving Meal’ thing until the day after when I can have the glorious left overs.
Capsicums, celery
Pizza. It’s OK hot, but excellent cold.
Custard - the real thing that sets solid, not that stuff in cartons.
And of course, revenge! - Kaaaaahnnnn!
I find a lot of greek rice and pasta dishes are pretty unimpressive hot… but I love them chilled.
Thanksgiving Turkey… the next day you better lock up that bird because I will raid the fridge for strips of white meat all the live long day.
Most fruits I prefer cold. Not bananas, but basically everything else.
Spaghetti sauce. Cold, on hot toast. Yuuuuum.
My favorite soup recipe is one I made this past summer - Chilled Cherry-Plum Soup, from The Enchanted Broccoli Forest. Since I found that, I’ve been trying more chilled soups - found some good ones, but none that match the cherry-plum.
I also like my Diet Mt. Dew at room temperature.
Susan
Not so much cold but I prefer room temperature soft drinks. I have sensitive teeth and I always do a painful hiccup-burp when I drink freshly opened, chilled soft drink.
I think brownies and chocolate chip cookies taste better from the fridge than from the oven.
I enjoy coffee on ice.
Dill pickles.
Barbeque ribs.
Grapes, apples and citrus fruits.
I will see your cold pizza slices so long as I can dip mine in refrigerated marinara sauce.
Cocoa can be successfully recycled as a cold chocolate soy milk blend.
I freeze most my chocolate candy bars.
Spaghettios, cold and from the can.
I like cold mashed potatos.
Beer Canadians and English like it too warm.
Poached salmon - tastes like summer
It’s weird, the older I get, the fewer foods I prefer cold. I find that most foods (even ones traditionally served cold) have more flavor if heated or allowed to warm to room temperature. Cheese is a good example. About the only things I still like cold are ice cream ('cause if it’s not cold, it’s soup ) and Diet Coke (I think because I actually don’t like the taste that much and I taste it less cold).
