I’m more of a Xander kind of guy myself. I love the slightly vulnerable, cuddly ones 
She was hot, no question, but her character was never developed.

I’m thinkin’ it’s because the really, really bad accent makes her ridiculous and takes away her appeal. But yeah, the actress is beautiful.

Don’t watch the show, but I know the basics, so I’ll give my list:

(Preferably all three at once.)
The rest of them I wouldn’t even be remotely interested in - especially Spike. Blegh!

Okay, I guess that’s it really. With the others, I know they’re attractive, but they don’t make me go “Yow! If I was gay…” like Spike does. Oz is cute, though…
And just for the record, Willow is by far the most attractive babe on the show, IMO. Buffy isn’t even in the top 5.
Spike has always seemed kinda skanky to me. Not attractive at all. I think I’m freaked out by the vampire thing, too; I wouldn’t be interested in him or Angel, just because I like my men to have a pulse. And a reasonable body temp. And to not smell of the grave. Ew.
I would, though, in a major way, go for Gunn. Strong, sensitive, caring, studley, handsome, funny… Yum.
My list:

- Giles and/or Wesley…depending on what exactly I was looking for at the mo…
- Gunn AND Fred
- Xander
And those are really the only ones who do anything for me. Spike? Blecch. (This, despite the fact that my roommate turns into a drooling idiot when he’s on screen.)
On a completely unrelated note, has anyone else noticed that (other than Giles) there’s not a single healthy father figure anywhere in either series?
I wonder…how many people in this thread base their attraction purely on physical attributes as opposed to what the characters are like?
Oo! That made me think of Wesley. Not the wimpy-ass Wesley that tried to replace Giles as Buffy’s Watcher, but the “I wasn’t thinking about you while you were here.” Badass, chip-on-his-shoulder Wesley.
Pepperlandgirl This may answer your question. Physically, Wesley is so-so. But he’s samrt, and has a bit a dark side that I find rather hot.
Um, speaking as a straight female who would still think Spike was hot if I was gay (think I mentioned that already. Oh, well)
If I was basing it strictly on physical attributes, Spike would be third behind Riley and Angel, neither of whom do anything for me. Angel was a plot device (still haven’t seen the spin-off, still not interested, unless James Marsters is doing a guest spot) and Riley was just plain boooooooorrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnngggggggg.
Although I must admit I’m a sucker for a peroxide blonde with a British accent, even if it is, um, extremely well acted. (Also a rabid Billy Idol fan).
But Spike has it all. He’s mysterious, compact but muscular… oh God, I’m quoting Xander. But he has this brooding sexuality about him, also an element of danger, and he looks adorable on his knees in front of Buffy, especially when she’s being totally rejecting of him (“Fool for Love”) And I do think the vampire thing gives him a certain mystique.
OK, so I’m a sick puppy.
The character of Fred’s father, while breif, seemed normal enough. Actually, both her parents seemed pretty normal.
Hank was ok until he vanished in Spain, a character developement that was never explained.
Spike is hot, but I’d far rather let Giles turn my crank.
I was just wondering because if I ever met James Marsters on the street, he probably wouldn’t do much for me. He is rather thin and gaunt. However, Spike drives me absolutely crazy, because, well, he’s spike.
I think you and I have talked about this…and it’s all about the character. True, i think JM is a beautiful man, but awfully severe. And blech in his natural haircolor.
But SPIKE? Spike is IT…absolutely IT. Sexy, bad, complicated, funny as hell, vulnerable and British. It just doesn’t get much better than that… oooo… I gotta get back to my editing…
Yes! Go back to editing! I personally think you should devote every waking minute to editing…
Oh, pepper, my “attracted to person” list is much different. That puts Cordelia at the top, followed by buffy, then Willow, then Giles, Spike. (by the way, pepper, how was FFT? Did you manage to finish it?)
But Alyson+WillowCharacter= incredible, and ASH+Giles= incredible. SMG+Buffy is still better than your average person on the street, no doubt, but she can’t compare to her supporting cast IMO.
