Any Lacuna Coil fans here and willing to help out a newbie?

I have a sort of odd question regarding the song “Our Truth”.

I recently bought the album Karmacode from iTunes and discovered that in “Our Truth”, the audio drops out at about 24 seconds from the end and is replaced by an odd blend of what appears to be random noise. This lasts for about 5 or 6 seconds, and then the guitar/bass line fades back in and then the song ends (fades back out).

Is this how the song is supposed to end, or is the iTunes file defective? The nice folks at Apple let me try re-downloading it, but that same ?artifact was still there in the new download.

Yes; probably not.

I think I got my copy off eMusic and it’s the same. Listen carefully and you’ll note that the audio before the noise portion fades out, and then fades back in after the noise is done. This is more evidence that this is intentional.

Thanks for the responses! That sets my mind at ease.

(And I can stop pestering the poor guy at Apple. :o )

Just FTR a corrupt file is not unheard of: I downloaded an entire double album (best of the Waterboys) from iTunes which had glitches in every single file - a hemidemisemiquaver dropout of silence about every 30 seconds. It is astonishingly irritating to hear, and fucks up the rhythm ever-so-slightly. Unfortunately I left it too late to get a re-download but was given something like 10 free credits for other tracks.

Yes, it’s intentional, or at least that’s how the song plays on the CD as well. So if there was a botch, it happened in the recording studio, not at the iTunes HQ

Yes, it’s correct.
