Yeah the first windmill in my city !
The mayor was so excited about this that the city did very little research on how it would bother some people ! I can see the windmill but I am not close enough to have it drive me nuts like it does to other people,. The sunlight bounce off the blades and into people homes so the windmill is shut off certain times of the day.
I can see ships waiting to enter the Panama Canal from my window. I used to be able to see the top part of ships in the canal itself before they built a hi-rise that blocked the view.
We could see the Empire State Building from the house where I grew up in the Bronx even though it was 10 miles away.
Technically, no, but if I were able to get on top of maybe a 10’ tall ladder on my roof, I could see the downtown Chicago skyline (and I live about 9 miles from downtown). Yes, Chicago really is that flat.
My front room picture windows looks out at Goat Hill … meh … fucking goats …
I can see some of the tallest buildings in San Francisco, including 555 California Street and the Salesforce Tower. I can also see Mount Davidson in the other direction.
If we could do “fixed that for you” on this forum, this is where I would have deleted your second “h.”
From my house, no. Trees block the view of the cityscape, but I can walk a very short distance to get this.
this is the Table Rock visible from where I live
I can see the CN Tower from my bedroom.
I live right next to the Erie Canal. It’s not visible from my house but only because there are some woods behind my house. And, obviously, the canal is below ground level.
Is “the Las Vegas Strip” one landmark or a bunch of landmarks?
Dunno if it’s a landmark, but I can see Seaworld’s Skytower and one of its rides from my balcony. A bit more iconic (but still arguable for this thread) I can look the other direction and see the Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks.
From my old place in Dubai I could see the Burj Khalifa being built.
I enjoy a panoramic view of the Chicago skyline. Not quite high enough up to also see Lake Michigan, though.
If I were to stand on the roof I can see the state Capitol building.
The Sandia Mountains, the volcanoes, and the Darth Vader building.
The Caribbean Sea is visible from my house… and not a whole lot else.
Little Rock Central High is a couple miles from my house. The National Park Service runs it now.
I think the exit off the interstate may be visible from my roof. I drive past that exit several times a week. Never bothered visiting. It’s in a run down neighborhood.
It apparently is still a school. I doubt the students use the original building that people see in old photos. They’ve added other buildings ( on the property) since 1957.

I lived in three different houses in the French Quarter, where I could look out the door and see, umm, The French Quarter. In one of them, from my doorstep, I could see St. Louis Cathedral.
I lived in two houses from which I had an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean out the window.
I once lived in a house from which I could see a total solar eclipse. From my present house, I can see the moon.
I visited the museum in 2013 which is down the block from the school. They said folks could not go into the school building because it was still in active use.
