any lighter standard

If you ever notice every Bic lighter you buy, the first flick of the lighter, the flame is the same size every time. On other lighters that are adjustable you have to turn the knob all the way over to the (+) side, and still sometimers you have to take the cover up push the knob up as well and adjust the white gear. just to get a good light. Does anyone have any light on this subject. Is their a standard at all, or a measurement saying it has to be between these two marks.

The only thing I can say is, “You get what you pay for.” Those fancy, imported-from-France Bics are far superior to domestic products. $1.39 vs. $0.69 down at the corner 7-11.

We all know everything from France is superior – witness the Citroën Duck and Perrier Water.
(uh, in case no one gets the sarcasm, Ducks are lemons [ummm… lemon duck sounds good…] and isn’t Perrier the one that had the benzine in it a few years back?)

Tschüß!
