There may be a thread for this, but it’s impossible to search for.
I think Adam Richmann is the Mike Rowe of food shows. He’s really funnier than you’d think, and this show is oddly compelling, even though it sometimes makes me want to vomit.
My favorites are generally the epic fails. Seattle was a great one, where he got down to the last two bites of the omelet and just…couldn’t…finish. I also loved Sarasota’s “mystery challenge,” where they faked him out back in the kitchen with a HUGE fat sandwich covered in fries, chicken fingers, cheese sticks, mac and cheese…and then came out with 10 ghost-chili hot wings, and he could only finish two.
I also love the stops he makes before the challenge. I desperately need to visit Portland’s Voodoo Donuts once before I die.
Yes, I love this show. I’m not sure I can choose a favorite though. I like the stops before the challenge and sometimes I wish he’d go back there and try those instead of what he’s doing. I like the spicy challenges but the volume challenges are the ones that make me a tiny bit queasy.
We’re big Adam Richman fans here. His jokes are often such cheesy groaners, you can’t help but laugh in spite of yourself.
Lucky’s Sandwich Co here in Chicago is a pretty decent place to get a sandwich. I’ve promised my 8-year old son that I’ll attempt the 3-sandwich challenge at some point. Guess I’d better get training.
I LOVE his show. He’s been in Pittsburgh a few times, which is awesome considering we’re not a big city in the slightest.
He actually came to the opening week of the giant new grocery store north of the city, but it was just to cook. I’d rather watch him eat than cook. I wouldn’t watch Bobby Flay eat, and I wouldn’t watch Adam Richman cook.
But I love it. My favorite is ginormous burger one, where firefighters helped him eat it.
We religiously watch this show… haven’t missed an episode since it began. Adam is one of my guilty crushes. I think he’s just delectable, but most of the food I’d take a pass on.
As to favorite shows, I still have a soft spot for when he ate the head off a shrimp in New Orleans. You don’t get any more hardcore than that.
Man v. Food rocks! Sometimes I watch and think, “I could put that many sandwiches away,” but most of the time I just watch agape as he unhinges his jaw and glorms down enough food to take down Mr. Creosote.
Man vs. Food rocks! I like the beginning of the show better than the food challenge but Adam’s a good enough host that we always watch the whole show. It’s really fun to see what people eat all over the country.
Good show. I also like the other places he visits. The one on barbeque nearly made me move there. Holy shit, that looked good! His milkshake fail was interesting. I like it when he does a changeup by eating something else to change the texture and food type to get through the challenge. Like the French fries with the ice cream sundaes.
Oh, the recent 2nd trip to Durham, where he did the Doughman Relay with two Duke athletes and Dhani Jones…that was hilarious. I felt so bad for him when he pulled up lame.
