it’s an in class simulation game. we’re playing it in my intro to international relations class.
basically there are seven fictious countries on the continent of lostralia. the object is to gain as many factors as possible and apply it towards food, industry, squirtite, navy, etc. you can do it through barter, war, invasion… things like that. so far my class is getting really into it.
so is there any one out there that’s played it before? what experiences have you had?
My little sister did something similar, I think. I recall weeks of her sweating over her country. It got pretty intense as I recall.
Yes… hehe…
And my group, the three Civilization-type-games nerds,
ended up becoming the sole superpower.
We were also in the Model UN Club and cut some deals in the class game that Machiavelli would have been proud of. The other big country group started to go against us when it looked like we would “win.” But they realized it was more fun to help rule the world instead.
I think these games are great. I got my 13 y.o. nephew
interested in MATH of all things when I introduced him to

I figure anything that gets kids involved in thinking about their world and how the subjects they learn in school can be applied is wonderful.
