Today I recieved a set of books I didn’t even know existed until 4 days ago- a 2 volume boxed set of the complete run of Neat Stuff, one of my favorite comix from way back when. One Bagge strip I just vaguely remember I was hoping was in here. I thought it was a Neat Stuff strip but I don’t see it. It involves someone recalling the increasingly weird Xmas cards some relative sent each year, until the last one which seemed perfectly innocuous, until a tiny caption is spotted which says the card was drawn by some severely handicapped person. Ring a bell? Anyway, it’s a great set of books!
I like him, but I’ve only read a little of his stuff. What I’ve read i really like, both story and art.
I love Peter Bagge! I’ll have to dig out my old Neat Stuff collection; I know it’s right in front of Flaming Carrot in the box.
Big fan of The Bradleys and Hate back in the day. Also rather liked his post-apocalypse tale, Apocalypse Nerd.
Been reading him since he edited WEIRDO.
Do you remember Martini Baton
I love Hate.
Big fan of Hate, the Bradleys, and the Sweatshop miniseries he did for DC. He also did an issue of Spider-man for Marvel, and his rendition of Spidey’s fight with Dr. Octopus was hilarious.
I met Peter Bagge at Heroes Con in Charlotte NC many moons ago. It was like talking a dead fish. Maybe he was burned out or having an off day, but he was nowhere near as manic as his comics style.
