I’m looking for the opening text of the PIRG rap – the spiel that canvassers give to the folks who open their front doors to them. Is anyone working for PIRG this summer who can either post some of it here, or send it to me via PM?
My nefarious purpose: I’m writing a speech called “Telemarketers Are People, Too,” which I will present to my Toastmasters club next month. In it I will talk about the various sales jobs I had while I was in college, including canvassing for MaryPIRG in the summer of '92, and I think it would be cool to start my speech with the rap, or at least the first part of it. But, 13 years later, I can’t remember one bit of it (though I still have a vivid memory of sitting in the back of a car we called “the shark” and practicing the rap before being dropped off in my neighborhood du jour).
This isn’t a huge deal – I know I could just make something up, and/or I don’t have to start the speech that way, etc. But if I can get some of the actual rap to use in the speech, I’d like to.
