I really should have seen that coming.
Only two surprises on the show.
- Heyman double-double cross. I would have done the second one slightly differently other than a second crotch shot, but it still worked.
- Stratton winning. This was less of a surprise because Stratton should be the winner, but it was Flair, and she has a way of being booked/getting booked into nonsensical wins, story-wise.
Gunther tapped out in 2 seconds to a sleeper hold that’s been no-sold for decades? Maybe the match got cut short.
The training camp stabbing incident Pat MacAfee alluded to took place at Northern Colorado.
I was absolutely sure Heyman would turn on Punk, but didn’t see the double swerve coming. Heyman sold the act of being the obsequious wise man for years, and got in his ultimate Judas moment. Will this lead to a Rollins/Uso feud for the title? Maybe that’s why Gunther was written out of the picture so quickly.
Iyo retains in the opener of Night Two.
Kerry King of Slayer playing Damien Priest to the ring was pretty damn awesome.
Dirty Dominik is the new Intercontinental Champion! I’m so happy!
Randy Orton’s mystery opponent is none other than THE JOE HENDRY!
Cena wins lol
Seriously, the Cena/Rhodes match was the dumbest booking ever. It’s like WWE sucked about 20 corporate cocks simultaneously for ad revenue.
Again with fucking Travis Scott?
I knew it would happen eventually: Steve Austin slams his ATV into the barricade during his lap around the ring.
I’m assuming that I am supposed to know who Travis Scott is.
The only reason I knew who he was was his appearance at the Elimination Chamber.
Seriously, I think I knew one of the “celebrities” shown in the audience (George Kittle). I guess as a mid-50’s non-MMA non-rap fan, I’m not exactly their target audience.
OK, I guess I theoretically know who Vanessa Hudgens is, but I sure wouldn’t have recognized her.
And seriously, WWE? No Rock? Not even to announce the attendance?
Liv and Raquel retain the tag titles, and Becky attacks Lyra post-match.
Also… Happy Rusev Day!
JD McDonough returns and helps Dominik retain the I-C Title.
Stephanie Vaquer makes her main roster debut and has an outstanding match with Iyo Sky.
Oh, and I forgot: Randy Orton RKO’d Cena at the top of the show.
WHOA. Bron Breakker joins forces with Rollins and Heyman!
What an excellent night.
Gunther choking out Pat McAfee was the highlight of the year. Best use of both of them on show.
After Cody dropped the title, WWE went back and retroactively retired the Universal Championship, recognizing Roman Reigns as the last champion, who lost it at WrestleMania XL.
Noam Dar has returned to quickly win the Heritage Cup from Lexus King.
Looking forward to hearing him on the mic again. Too bad his former inamorata Aleesha Fuuuux isn’t still around.
