Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

I think it could be ruse and there’s nothing wrong with Rey Mysterio at all. We could see him wrestle El Grande Americano and he’d look like he’s in better condition than he has been recently, even looking like he’s suddenly at least 20 years younger. But you’d be able to tell from his mask that he was the real Rey Mysterio wrestling whoever this Grande Americano guy is.

Last night on SmackDown, the tag-team title match between The Street Profits and Motor City Machine Guns was interrupted by DIY, who stole the belts.

Also, Randy Orton said he’d show up on Sunday and have a WrestleMania open challenge.

Bayley is off the card after one of those backstage attacks that only happen in the one hallway in the entire building that doesn’t have a security camera. Lyra Valkyra has 24 hours to find a new partner for tomorrow’s tag title match.

It’s just been confirmed on the pre-show that that’s exactly what’s happening.

I can’t remember the last time they’ve had to change this many matches on the card this close to the event itself.

Rey is out. Rey is in. (Mysterio / Fenix respectively)

WWE has acquired Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA.

Holy shit.

¡Santa mierda! What a time to make such an announcement.

Jey Uso is your new World Heavyweight Champion, which makes him WWE’s 35th Triple Crown champion.

And he made Gunther tap to the sleeper, too. How apropos.

New Day wearing Giant Gonzalez inspired costumes for their entrance was certainly a choice.

New Day win the championships.

The story recaps seem much shorter this year. Thankful for that.

And that’s why I stick with the free tier of Peacock that comes with my Comcast subscription. I’m not paying extra just to watch recap packages.

Jacob Fatu has won the US title!

Jacob Fatu wins the United States Championship after two moonsaults. Haku comes out to celebrate with him afterwards.

And Hijo del Vikingo is in the crowd! I got to meet him at a DEFY show a few years ago when he was still AAA Mega Champion. He let me hold the title belt. It’s SURPRISINGLY lightweight. My replica WCW world championship belt is heavier.

Tiffany Stratton retains over Charlotte! I wasn’t expecting that.

Very happy to see Tiffy retain.

In other news, Tomasso Ciampa suffered a fall and busted open his chin very badly (in the real world, not on camera) and was compelled to shave his beard. Graphic images if you scroll to the right.

Paul Heyman with the rare double-double-cross!

Rollins wins the main event of Night One.

What I didn’t see (because I didn’t see the entire show) is that Nick Aldis took the belts back, and booked a TLC match for next week’s show.
