On RAW, the six-man tag team match between 946 and The Bloodline ended in a no-contest when Carmelo Hayes came out in a 946 T-shirt and helped lay out the opposition with a crowbar.
I like Penta’s custom Money in the Bank briefcase, which has its own pyro shooters.
I mean, the time I saw the Acclaimed live at Dynamite in Seattle, his rap compared Jay Lethal to Andrew Tate and told Jeff Jarrett he was a stain on the business and “worse than Vince McMahon”. And that was AFTER we knew about the sexual harassment and human trafficking Vince was involved in.
A male Cook County Sheriff’s officer who worked as an off-duty security officer at a July episode of Monday Night RAW at the Rosemont Horizon, just outside Chicago, is suing WWE and Montez Ford for Ford’s sexually-charged, almost-lapdance that he did right in front of him during The Street Profits’ entrance that night.
It got hundreds of thousands of views and caused him to be locally infamous, with people making sport of him and his children.
Tonight at Wrestledream, Will Ospreay will be defending the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe, Speedball Mike Bailey, Edge, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, and Darby Allin in AEW’s first ever Clockwork Carnage match - a format Ospreay invented in the British indies which is a sort of cross between Wargames and an Ironman match.
The match starts with two wrestlers selected at random. Every three minutes, another wrestler enters. During this period, any wrestler who is pinned or submitted is eliminated. Once the eighth wrestler enters, a 15-minute countdown begins, and whoever scores the most falls during that time is declared the winner.
Sounds like absolute insanity. I’ll definitely be watching.
R-Truth suffered a legitimate injury during his match with Damian Priest on SmackDown when he landed badly after hitting a missile drop kick. The referee stopped the match.
AEW
Hangman Adam Page and Brodido defeated Swerve Strickland and The New Level to regain the AEW World Trios Championship at WrestleDream.
In the above-mentioned Clockwork Carnage match, Will Ospreay retained the AEW World Championship, but at one point, Samoa Joe did make him tap out.
Independents
Straight off of his one-day hiring and firing by TNA over the controversial comments he made rapping about missiles hitting Riyadh, Max Caster appeared at an independent show and announced that he was taking time off from wrestling for an indefinite period, and would be going into therapy.
The Clockwork Carnage match was fun, but it had the same flaw that a lot of multi-man matches have - most of the time, it’s just two or three guys doing stuff while everyone else just lies around selling until it’s their turn to do a spot, which especially doesn’t make sense in a match where you’ve got a fixed amount of time to try and score enough falls. IMO they should take a page from Anarchy in the Arena and make it Falls Count Anywhere, or perhaps set a goal for how many falls need to be scored to win, changing to Sudden Death once the timer runs out.
Apparently Caster was a last-minute choice after a plan to book Sheamus for the match fell through because he wants to take some time off before returning to the ring.
If it ever does happen, Sheamus vs. Moose would be an absolute hoss fight.
I have this simmering dread of a Sum of all Fears type situation where the feed goes dark in the middle of the show because the stadium has been hit by Iranian missiles.
