Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

After the team of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura (accompanied by Sami Zayn) won their six-man tag-team match against The Judgment Day on RAW, Nakamura hit the Kinshasa on World Champion Rollins and left the ring, turning heel.

Have we got our RAW main event for Payback?

The Fatal 4 Way on Raw was a fantastic match. 4 superb athletes in a high action fight. Great moments with Gable and Riddle showing their technical skills. Those are 2 of the toughest men in WWE. And the right man won.

im surprised he was on tv … ive heard Riddle is being buried due to his legal/personal problems

At least my boy JD McDonough got some air time, even if it was to be the 10 millionth person to beat up Sami Zayn.

Remember Bayley’s #1 fan Izzy?

She’s making her in-ring debut this weekend. Feel old yet?

SmackDown 8/11/23:

Rey Mysterio ended Austin Theory’s 258-day second reign as United States Champion dating back to last year’s Survivor Series by defeating him in an impromptu match after Theory took out Rey’s LWo teammate Santos Escobar.

This is Mysterio’s third reign with the title. He won his first title on 5/19/19’s Money in the Bank over Samoa Joe, and his second from AJ Styles on 11/25/19’s RAW.

Theory’s title reign was the seventh-longest in U.S. TItle history, and third longest under the WWE banner.

Also, Jimmy told Jey that he betrayed him because he loved him and didn’t want him to turn out like Roman, holding the gold, the lei, and becoming an asshole. Jey took out Roman, Solo, and then kicked Jimmy in the face and quit WWE.

Nice TV match for that title. Rey keeps working and delivering for WWE. He earned his titles, he doesn’t need a push, he pushes himself.

Somehow, AEW managed to announce a live Collision for Seattle next month without my even knowing about it until it was onsale. I won’t be in the view of the hard cam this time, but I got a decent seat facing the ramp.

I remember the controversy when in WCW rey was injured and needed time off so in character he had Kevin Nash throw him in the side of either a car or building on nitro to help put the NWO over …

Nash says to this day he gets hate over it and it wasn’t even his idea

he said he said no way but Rey also mentioned it to Bischoff so Bischoff made a scenario for it and they practiced it a couple of times cause Nash still wasn’t comfortable doing it but it happened anyway (I actually marked out when I saw it live)

… I mean who thinks “Hey I’m hurt so I’m gonna put over the monster heel by having him hurl me into something so we can sell the injury …” Even Foley said he wouldn’t have done it …

I remember that episode! It was about 20 minutes into the show with the nWo taking out a bunch of babyfaces in the parking lot. They turned it into a whole thing where most of the people who were scheduled to wrestle that night were now injured, so they had to put a card together on the fly with the people left. It was a pretty original idea at the time.

found it! was a production trailer …

wow almost 30 years ago

Still tho I mean that’s loyalty to the biz that almost no one has today

I think NXT might have struck bronze with Von Wagner. Instead of the promos about his deformity and trying to live up to his dad’s name, they’re going with “Imma throw you through a table.” That’s it. Simple, direct, meme-able. URRRRRH!

No one could have thrown Foley like a lawn dart. :upside_down_face: While that was a really cool visual, lots of wrestlers have done injury angles before taking time off for recovery. It depends on the injury and the severity.

P.S. Found the ‘bing’ user. Didn’t even use the YT link. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking at the video it doesn’t look all that dangerous. I can understand that uncoordinated lummox Nash could have seriously botched the move so that’s the apprehension Foley might have expressed.

it was the head first “dart” aspect that put people off

That’s just “protect the business” talk. I stand by my previous statement.

I guess Edge is not retiring yet. Just celebrating 25 years in the business. That’s if you count the years he wasn’t in the business too. Time to go home Edge, put an end to it.

Unfortunately, there were no monitors at Disney/MGM, so no one in attendance could see what was happening. About ten minutes into that segment, with no wrestling, they started chanting “BORING!”

I think the most boring thing WCW did under the Bischoff era was have Bret Hart wrestle some fat guy from MadTV for a half hour.

To be fair, that match only lasted 3:44. But yeah, no one knew or cared who Will Sasso was.

It sure felt like a half hour. I kept switching to RAW but they didn’t have anything better.
