Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

Achy joints after vacuuming? I get them just thinking about vacuuming. And don’t get me started about how I hurt when I see my grass is getting too long!

If Mox was hurt by the first piledriver, I don’t think even Fenix would have gone for a second, despite how scary dumb both of them are regarding their own physical safety. I could be wrong though. This might just be an opportunity for Moxley to take some time off with an injury angle. Or maybe, considering the short title reign, he was already needing injury time off and wanted to sell it in the ring. Certainly wouldn’t be the first, second, or even hundredth time wrestling has done that.

In other news, Smackdown is leaving Fox and moving to USA as of October 2024. It is a 5 year deal and includes 4 prime-time specials on NBC. However, the press release had this to say about Raw and NXT: " WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE NXT will continue to air on USA Network through September 2024."

And lastly, seems my original take on Moxley/Fenix was wrong. I really should have stuck with the easiest explanation rather than trying to figure out how AEW was trying to swerve me.

They now make more of a show with storyline injuries, even using the X sign for less than a serious injury because of fan awareness. OTOH they are more on the ball with wrestler injuries, including unplanned stoppages and winners. We just have to wait to find out the truth, sometimes forever because you can’t trust anything wrestlers say although these days the facts end up being revealed, but hidden within a cloud of stories. Notice how every wrestler that ever lived was in the restaurant when Haku bit some guys nose off for bothering him during dinner, but not a single one witnessed Bruiser Brody’s death or other such true tragedies.

The releases have started. Elias, Shelton Benjamin, Rick Boogs, and Riddick Moss so far.

Top Dolla, Aliyah, Emma, Mustafa Ali and friggin’ DOLPH ZIGGLER also gone.

Not the Moosetafa! He has immense talent and takes sick bumps. Some of his earlier “dark side” promos were compelling, but they didn’t run with it. Plus, he’s their token Arab when they play in Saudi Arabia. Mansoor still languishes in gimmick limbo I suppose? I’m sure Ali will land in AEW or at least Impact.

As for Dolph, he can unite with his bruthuh in AEW and the two can possibly emerge from house shows to prime time. I’m not too heartbroken over the other releases.

Dolph was paid a lot so I can see them not wanting to keep that up. Shelton cost them much less but he wasn’t going to be a big part of the future. They’re at the tail end of their careers though. I won’t miss the rest all.

Even though their names are not well known the deep cuts at headquarters could echo through the company. These were the people that kept the machine running smoothly without receiving any credit.

WWE Smackdown is returning to the USA Network. The deal comes out to an average of $287 million per year, a total value of over $1.4 billion, people familiar with the matter told CNBC.

What about Ezekiel? Is he still on the roster?

I was hoping to see the stupid stunt to get him and Elias on together. Maybe a pair of brothers with names starting with E will show up in AEW, and that stands for All Ezra Wrestling.

They’re reporting that Moxley was injured before the match began and the ending was changed during the match with his input. Official explanation is a mild concussion. Moxley must have continued fighting with mild concussions plenty of times so I suspect this was worse than stated.

Nope, he’s gone too.

here ya go

What about Mustafa Ali’s match with Dominik at No Mercy?

Guess it’s not happening, which means this article from yesterday really didn’t age well;

Ditto this one from earlier today about how Dolph Ziggler is happy with his place in the company;

I wish there was a way to block Eric Bischoff from popping up in my newsfeed. Everything he touches turns to shit.

Personally, every time I open Wrestlinginc and see them breathlessly reporting on the latest musings by Eric Bischoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., or some other old windbag who was relevant 20 years ago and is desperate for attention, I’m reminded of Homer Simpson cutting off a rant by Comic Book Guy to ask “Does anyone care what this guy thinks?”, to which the assembled crowd shouts “No!”

In this case it’s just a demonstration of terribly bad timing on their part, since they published this article less than an hour before Dolph got canned.

Ziggler’s release comes after he’s wrestled 1,554 matches in WWE, third in company history behind only Kane and The Big Show.

The active leader is now Kofi Kingston, with 1,536.

The trio of facts that Cody Rhodes has wrestled more than the Undertaker, Fandango had more WWE matches than CM Punk, and Natalya has wrestled more than any woman in company history are all far too much for me to deal with at this hour.
