Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

Natalya doesn’t surprise me. She’s been there a long time.

Rhodes is a stunning statistic, though.

This stands out as my favorite Ziggler moment.

Ziggler cashing in on Del Rio the night after Wrestlemania 29 was the height of his career, IMO. Del Rio was over big as a babyface at the time, and Ziggler was solidly in heel territory, but the entire crowd went nuts for him when he handed in the briefcase the crowd went nuts in a way they rarely do and it was a huge moment that wound up having storyline effects for most of the year.

Maybe if he goes to AEW then he and Billy Gunn can finally have the match they’ve been destined to have ever since he stole Billy’s gimmick, finisher, and hairstyle.

Actually, I don’t mind FPJ’s input every once in a while. While he has had a hand in training wrestlers on promos, he’s more of a civilian, and it’s kind of funny to read how he was in over his head while working with WWE. He once complained about how John Cena dropped in on a promo class he was teaching and effectively took it over. Well, yeah. Cena does this with audiences of thousands. His ability to command attention is one of the reasons why he’s big money.

Taker wrestled with less and less frequency over the years. How many times did he wrestle in the last 10 years? Cody was an everyday undercard wrestler until he left.

Punk wasn’t around for long while Natty was, so their stats aren’t surprising at all.

That still doesn’t explain Fandango’s surprisingly high workrate.

Mid-card work. Those guys work every show. Dango spent 7 years in WWE, plus development time. Punk did about the same, but I don’t know if they are counting ECW matches or development matches for either of them, or how many more Fandango had, or who is counting these matches.

The Miz takes to Instagram to talk about Dolph Ziggler’s release:

I consider one of the best matches of my career the Career vs Title match at No Mercy against @heelziggler. Everything leading up to that match was great. Dolph always brought the best out of me every time we worked together. I don’t know if I’ve faced any one person more than him in my career. I’ll miss those times but excited to see what comes next for him.

Apparently it was the flip dive at the beginning of the Moxley/Fenix match that injured Mox, not the piledrivers at the end. And it was Mox who called an audible to put Fenix over, the logic being that it’s better to give it to the challenger than keep the belt on a hurt champion.

The concussion is said to be minor, and there’s no way of knowing yet how long Mox will be out.

You hear that, Phil? Food for thought.

…and Matt Riddle’s gone.

He got fired from UFC for smoking weed back in 2015 or so, so I guess it’s not surprising that he’d be on the outs as soon as WWE wound up under their corporate umbrella, and his problematic behavior offstage probably didn’t help either.

How long before he forms an AEW tag-team with RVD?

I guess his contract is Bro-ken.

That Pretty Deadly segment on SmackDown was hilarious.

"What Elton Prince has is a separated shoulder.

“He’ll be fine.”

Did some announcer say he was thinking about the Roman Empire?

Yes, he did.

And goddamn it are we not going to have AJ Styles on the PPV?

These two are going to be my favorite comedic tag-team since The New Day.

Next year’s Elimination Chamber is airing live from Perth, Australia, their first Aussie PPV since Super Showdown back in 2018.

And just like that show, it’s going to be airing at the asscrack of morn for US viewers. Hope you’re up for 3 AM on a Saturday morning!

That’s 3AM Pacific; 6AM Eastern.

Still no. I’ll watch it when I wake up.

Due to my work schedule I’m usually up at 3 AM in the first place, but whether I want to STAY up long enough to watch a full show will depend on what the card looks like. I stay up for Wrestle Kingdom every year, but that’s usually over by 4, whereas this show will probably still be going past 7. Super Showdown started at 2 and was over by 6, and Beast In the East back in 2015 started at 2:30 and ended around 5.
