My main complaint with Triple H’s booking style is that the pace is absolutely glacial. Not every storyline needs to be a multi-year epic. There’s no reason for Sheamus to have been chasing the Intercontinental title for this long, for instance. I want to see him win it and have it be a big moment too, but it could have easily been wrapped up 6-9 months ago and have been as satisfactory.
In other news, Triple H announced two new championships for WWE Evolve today, bringing the number of titles sponsored by WWE up to an eye-popping 21. That’s WAY too many belts.
Ricky Starks is now Ricky Saints. I wish he could’ve just kept his name, but this isn’t bad at least. He’s still scheduled to defend the DEFY championship next month, so I guess Hunter is letting him finish out his commitments in the indies.
I’m going to be honest; I’ll be pissed if John Cena wins the Elimination Chamber. He put himself in without a qualifying match and hasn’t even been seen since the Royal Rumble. He hasn’t even been seen tonight yet backstage!
I’d have Cena win the title. At Summerslam Cena gets knocked out after winning his match against Cody or Punk. Have the MITB winner then enter the ring, hand the contract over to ancient Ric Flair, who then regains the title and the record. Flair then immediately retires and vacates the belt.
Any fantasy booking that puts a World title on LP should be thrown into a distant star so that even its cosmic ashes never again taint this earth.
My take on Iyo winning is that, given her booking, she is not a WM main event. Rhea will still somehow be in the mix. They need Rhea and Bianca to carry the talking parts for the next 7 weeks. Bianca will be heel when it comes out both her and Naomi were behind Jade’s beat down.
