Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

None of those guys could do the work. Of course Jey or anyone else who takes the belt from Gunther could be a short time champion, either to transition to someone else entirely, or just to lose it back to Gunther and make him a 2 time champion.

AJ Styles has joined RAW through the transfer window.

TNA’s Johnny Curtis, formerly known as Faaan-DAAAAAAAAAAN-go, has returned to NXT to challenge Lexis King for the Heritage Cup.

Maybe I was wrong in thinking splitting up the Usos would destroy their careers.

Jey’s sold a lot of YEET merchandise, so they’re keeping him in the spotlight.

Cedric Alexander has been released by WWE.

Could we see him with The Hurt Syndicate in AEW in 90 days?

Drew McIntyre defeated LA Knight and Jimmy Uso in a triple threat match to advance to the Elimination Chamber match.

Tiffany Stratton will defend the Women’s Championship against Nia Jax next week on SmackDown.

Paul Ellering and AOP have been cut (again), along with Sonya Deville.

I have a feeling the Wyatt Sicks are about to be shown their papers too. After a thrilling debut, they haven’t been used in months. They didn’t even get an appearance at RR, when practically the entire rest of the roster did.

6 WWE cuts:
Sonya DeVille (contract not renewed, immediate free agency)
AOP & Paul Ellering
Cedric Alexander
Blair Davenport

AEW/ROH:
Bear Boulder (Iron Savages) fired following arrest for domestic battery. Tough break for Bear Bronson (whom I see wrestle often, along with his wife, as he’s local and from the school I watch). They worked as a big beefy team, but as singles, I’m not sure he has what it takes on the big stage.

Apparently, Isla Dawn can be added to the list.

Gallows & Anderson
Giovanni Vinci (not yet confirmed)

They did Vinci cold after splitting him from Imperium.

If I remember correctly, Gallows & Anderson were poached from AEW, but WWE eventually realized they weren’t that hot a commodity any more.

When Anderson was signed by WWE this last go-around he was still holding the NEVER Openweight championship. They had to arrange for him to quickly drop it to Tama Tonga on his way out the door.

EEEEK!

Ricky Starks is in NXT, the day after his contract expired!

Wonder why AEW dropped the ball on him?

Just last Friday he beat KENTA for the DEFY championship. I wonder if that means DEFY is working with WWE now? They’ve basically been a farm promotion for AEW between Darby, Aubrey Edwards, Nick Wayne, Swerve, and Pentagon all having worked there first.

Michelle McCool will be inducted into the 2025 Hall of Fame class.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kind of miss VKM’s chaos.

There’s nothing wrong with HHH’s vision, and that’s the problem. AEW’s initial appeal was that it was flawed and developing, and WWE has none of that. It’s gotten too predictable.

I kinda thought this would happen. In addition to your point about a lack of volatility, they’re production quality is dropping in some ways because there’s no raging maniac backstage criticizing everything they do and going apeshit when something goes seriously askew.

The recent McMahon documentary had Vince explaining why he didn’t think Shane would be a good promoter, because Shane has a wrestler’s attitude and would be well liked by the talent and sympathetic to them instead of feared and hated as promoter. I think the same applies to HHH. Not saying Vince was right about the result, but some businesses require a heavy hand on the tiller. Wrestling and wrestlers fall in that category. AEW is also affected in that manner, but more so because Tony Khan is neither a competent wrestler or promoter.
