Six months?! Put him in jail!
Jinder Mahal and Satnam Singh have been stripped of the AAA tag team championships.
In even more shocking news, Jinder Mahal and Satnam Singh were the AAA tag team champions.
I’m surprised they’re letting him keep the world championship. Sexy Star got run out of the wrestling business altogether for less than what Alberto has repeatedly done and it feels like they’re gonna keep letting him slide until he winds up killing someone like Sunny or Chris Benoit.
Last night in AEW, in a street fight, they brought out the spiked club that’s usually used for missing the opponent wildly, or for poking in the gut. This time however, Edge/Cope superplexed Moxley on it. The thing was stuck in Mox’s back. Wheeler Yuta ran in to pull it out, but the spikes were pulling Mox’s skin along with it! Ewww, ack, heebiejeebies, ai yi yi yi…
It eventually fell off. Fuck, that had to hurt.
That’s an example of why I can’t watch AEW. The death matches.
I have nothing against hardcore matches as long as they’re used sparingly and only when a storyline calls for it. Otherwise the audience gets numb and you have to push things further and further and before you know it New Jack is legit trying to gouge people’s eyes out with a broken pencil.
I’ve been so jaded about wrestling for the past few months, (I even missed Cena’s heel turn) it at least got my attention. I don’t expect blood and guts every week, but so many matches have been formulaic otherwise. What used to considered unique and over-the-top is now a tired cliche. At least getting superplexed on a superfluous but potentially deadly prop hasn’t been done before.
Those spots exposed the spiked club too much. It was stupid. The suplex wasn’t the first hit with the spikes. You can’t hit with the spikes, just like HHH never brained anyone with the sledgehammer.
And for the record, being suplexed onto barbed wire and not bleeding - more breaking the suspension of disbelief.
Sheamus returned to action last night at a house show in Belfast.
RAW GM Adam Pearce announced that Bron Breakker will defend the Intercontinental Championship tomorrow night on RAW against Penta.
Great line tonight from Xavier Woods after Adam Pearce yelled at him: “Take your blood pressure medication.”
As of the April 16th episode of Dynamite, it will have aired more episodes than WCW Monday Nitro did.
WWE will, for the first time, induct an actual match into the WWE Hall of Fame - the match between Stone Cold and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13.
you just know the original hell in the cell with UT and foley will make it at some point
Miro/Rusev is reportedly on his way back to WWE. They never should have cut him in 2020, IMO.
No word on whether Lana (who he broke up with and then got back together with over the course of the last year) is coming with, but if they never do another cuckolding storyline between the two of them ever again it’ll be too soon.
With the first cuck story, it could have just been McMahon being McMahon. With the second, either Rusev or Lana or both are probably pushing for the story, and of course Vince wouldn’t say no to that. Hell, he was probably taking notes. Not that he needed lessons on being unfaithful, even before he and Linda were estranged.
Is Miro past his 90-day non-compete clause from AEW?
Several sites are reporting that Kevin Owens will miss WrestleMania 41 with a significant injury.
His release wasn’t made official until February, but I’m not sure if he’s under a non-compete.
Rey Fenix is expected to debut in WWE before Wrestlemania, though.
Ray Fenix debuted tonight with a win over Nathan Frazier on SmackDown.
Tonight, a Naomi vs. Jade Cargill match was added to WrestleMania 41.
