Any recommendations for Cocoa Beach?

We’re planning to take a trip to Florida this August, with two main objectives: swim in an ocean, and visit the Kennedy Space Center. It’s looking like Cocoa Beach might be the destination, so can you recommend a place to stay?

There will be the four of us: Mom, Dad, and a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old. Since one of the main things we want to do is experience an ocean, we must have a place right on the beach.

We’re also definitely going to spend time at the Kennedy Space Center and Sea World. (But I doubt we will go to Disney).

So have you been to Cocoa Beach or nearby, and do you have any recommendations on a place to stay (or stay away from)?

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is really cool. There’s an excellent chance that you can see manatees at Haulover Canal.

If you need a nice, clean hotel, our collective family ( about 50 people) have been staying at the for nearly 50 years. Bonus: my aunt lives about .5 miles away.
Ron Jon’s is almost mandatory if you need souveniers. Locals hate it.

You **must go to the Space Center. **
