Any sport have multiple HOF players with the same name who are NOT related?

There are 2 wide receivers named Steve Smith currently in the NFL. Carolina’s Steve Smith is one of the top players at his position, so he has a shot at the HOF. The Giants Smith is younger and probably won’t be HOF caliber, but he did lead the league in catches this year, so there’s an outside chance.

ETA: Bijou Drains mentioned them in his post - I’m just speculating on their HOF chances.

Boxing has had two Hall of Fame boxers with the name Jack Dempsey: the 19th century champion Jack “Nonpareil” Dempsey, and the much more well known 20th century world heavyweight champion Jack “The Manassa Mauler” Dempsey.

Cool!

Not that they are HOF material, but this is a good place to mention the 1978 Texas Longhorns football team, who had Johnny “Lam” Jones, Johnny “Ham” Jones, and Johnny “Jam” Jones.

Edit: Further research suggests that “Jam” Jones’ name was A.J. Jones. So he may or may not count.

I thought so too.
