Any statistics about spine injury sufferers who didn't lose the use of their legs....

… eventually (years later) losing the use of their legs.
I fractured a vertebrae (sp?) a year or more ago, and every day I think about my movements and posture so as not to agrivate the injury and damage the spinal cord.
I understand that the bone is fully healed up (though healed into a squashed shape) but is it considerably weaker now? Am I in considerable more danger than a non-spine injured person of agravating and damaging the spinal cord? Are there any known statistics?
