Any suggestions for really good lamb in Washington D.C.?

I’m going to be in D.C. for a few days in June. I love lamb and rarely eat it at home., and my favorite restaurant in D.C. has been Zaytinya and I might go there again, but can anybody recommend a good Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Indian/otherwise lamb serving restaurant that is

-Moderately priced (doesn’t have to be cheap but I don’t want to pay $50 for an entree either)
-Relatively casual (doesn’t have to allow wifebeaters and flip flops but I don’t want to wear a tie either)
-Is convenient to a Metro station?

Thanks for any suggestions-
J

Middle Eastern Cuisine in Takoma Park.

The Greek Deli has lamb, is moderately priced, and is very casual. The are only open from 7-4 weekdays though. Farragut north is the closest metro stop. Small amount of outdoor seating only, and very long lines at peak lunch time.

Kabob Palace in Crystal City meets all of your criteria. It’s basically a carryout place with some tables, though.

Looking at the dinner menu of your favorite, I’d reccomend Taverna Cretekou in Old Town Alexandria. I’ve eaten there once a year since 1979. Great Greek lamb. Also, other good things. Too bad you can’t go with a party of 5-10 as we used to in the coin business. Sharing of great things.

As an appetizer, their Imam Baildi is something you have probably never had, but will remember.

The only problem might be transport. There’s a Metro station 8 blocks East, and I have no doubt you can get a bus the eight blocks. Don’t know if it’s worth your time.

Is The Red Sea (Ethiopian) still in Adams Morgan? Used to have an outstanding lamb dish.

Coin business? As in collectors?
