Any video footage of the actual tsunamis?

I hate to be a ghoul, but I have always been fascinated with tsunamis (never want to see one in person).

Considering the vast tourist area that fell victim to this horror, I would have expected some amateur footage (perhaps taken from someone’s hotel balcony).

Anything like that? The closest I’ve seen is on the BBC News site and that was more or less aftermath waves.

There are two films showing of the first wave strike on ITV News from the UK: one from Sri Lanka, and one from Thailand. It doesn’t tower, but it’s incredibly fast and persistent - it just doesn’t stop coming. I’d imagine they’ll end up on other news stations soon. The wave is about the height of a two storey building.

Also there was an interview on Sky with a guy who’s just gone to look at the damage in Sri Lanka. He said there’s a passenger train one kilometre from the shore that was smashed off its rails, and is full of bodies. :frowning:

I saw some on the Israeli news (they don’t hesitate to show stuff like this, media censorship is quite lax). Absolutely awful stuff.
