Featherlou and her hubby are driving by Madison on their epic Calgary to Chicago and back journey, so we chatted and they decided to stop in town for lunch on the way down.
Latest info is that they will be driving down I90 and coming by Madison sometime between noon and 2 PM. A little more discussion about food and their enjoyment of Southwestern cuisine, resulted in picking Tumbleweed Southwest Grill as a dining location. It’s about 5 minute’s drive west of the Highway 151 (East Washington Ave.) Exit from I90. If you’re coming west from I90 it will be on your right.
Hopefully, we can narrow down the arrival window somewhat as the day grows nearer. But I figure I can blow off a chunk of afternoon work – or all of it – to go out and meet some folks. I work in downtown Madison, so I can cruise out to the east side with 15-20 minutes notice. But if we have some more folks joining us, we can maybe just hang and have a few beers while we wait for the hosers to arrive.
I didn’t mean to suggest that you revamp a bunch of plans just for this – for one thing, well, nobody else has replied yet. I usually work from 630 in the morning until 3 PM, so probably I’ll just knock off work early that day. If you have a cell, call me at work when you’re about 20 minutes out, which would give me enough time to cruise out and meet you at the restaurant.
Is some other people do respond, maybe we can figure out something to provide a better guesstimate for your arrival time.
It was no problem - like I said, it works out better for us anyway. Now we have time to poke around Minneapolis and look for cheese curds. Well, not in Minneapolis. First Minneapolis, then cheese curds.
Otto, what kind of work doesn’t let you take off for a couple of hours in the afternoon to go have lunch with some complete strangers you know from the internet? Sheesh!
