Any WordPress bloggers? Autopost to Twitter?

I echo my main blog on WordPress. One interesting feature of WordPress (can’t find how you get to it at the moment, @$#%&*!) is the option of auto-posting to Twitter, which results in a Twitter post that shows the blog post title, the first chunk of the first paragraph, and clicking on that goes to the actual blog post. But I can’t figure out how to make it include #hashtags.

Anyone using this feature figure out how to get it to do hashtags?

I’ve been doing a clumsy workaround: retweeting my tweets, with the hashtags added on the retweets.

I’ve been using WordPress for years, for various projects including a couple of blogs. I have never been satisfied with their auto-posting to Twitter and Facebook. It took me longer to tweak the system than it did to just make my own posts.

The one primary advantage of their built-in Twitter-autoposting is that it somehow uses a very short URL for the blog post link, and that leaves more characters for hashtagging. But since they allow double the length they used to maybe that’s not a relevant issue any more.

When you edit a page on your WordPress blog, right next to the “permalink” at the top of the page is a button that says “Get Shortlink.” That will show you the link that would be used in autoposting and you can use it for your manual tweet.
