Anybody have an old Holley carb catalog?

I have an old Holley carb, and want to know what type it is. What I know so far:
–2 bbl Holley
–list # 6221-2
–NOT on the product list on Holley’s website (out of production)

Anybody know what this is (model, cfm, etc.)?

This is a subject near and dear to all of us. The old Holley 2bbl you found in your garage. I recommend a newsgroup. Or maybe a carb shop. Do they have Yellow Pages where you live?

I don’t know about a 6221-2, but doing a web search, I found this site, which says an “R-6221-AAA, -1AAA” carb is a 2300, that is, a 350CFM with a center hung float bowl.

…but why are you posting this here? No offense and ignoring the sarchasm, an enthusiasts board would give you a lot better of results.

Gunslinger, I think you posted in the right place. I’ve had questions about obscure things (most recently about a Jeep hardtop hoist) which received some pretty good responses. I think a lot of guys on this board are car enthusiasts.

Most (~all) of my car manuals are at my parents’ house, so I could have been able to help you, but right now, I can’t. If you call, or better, go by, a car parts place, they should be able to look up the serial # and tell you what you’ve got. (don’t put too much faith in Manny, Moe, or Mack, though. Nice guys, but a lot of their employees grew up in the age of computer modules and fuel injection.) cornflakes was right about an additional posting elsewhere, but, hell, he helped out.

BTW, what did you get the carb off of, or what are you going to put it in?

From a '72 Ford pickup, going into an '84 Jeep Grand Wagoneer if it’s bigger than the stock Motorcraft 2150.

Holley tech support said it was 600 cfm, but I think he’s wrong (looks a little small for a 600cfm 2bbl).

Can’t tell you much about that carb by the model# but I can tell you that rebuilding those Holleys was one of the easiest jobs around the garage.

Right now your biggest problem would be in the gasketing and finding a cup for the accellerator pump.

Detail strip it and soak all of the parts in lacquer thinner to remove varnish.

some old mossy-horn mech might be able to tell you the air volume by the inside diameter of the main passages.

Try to find an old issue of the “MOTOR” manual covering yrs 35 thru 50
