Third Watch, the NBC police and fire drama, has been one of my favorite shows for the last couple of seasons. But they haven’t been rerunning it this summer, and I’ve seen no promos for a new season. Why would they drop such a good show? Or have they? Does anybody know? Am I the only one who thought it was a really well done drama?
I dunno if they’re bringing back Third Watch with new episodes, but A&E has picked up the reruns, and they’re starting September 1st.

Short answer: Yes, it was renewed.
So, we WILL find out if Faith’s husband lives or dies.
Monday at 9:00, starting 9/30, or so they say here.

Third Watch has a lot in common with Homicide: Life on the Street: they both get pissed on by NBC.
Kinda like Futurama and FOX. “Gotta scuttle ‘Futurama’ cuz nobody’s watching.” “Maybe that’s because it wasn’t on during football season. Ya think?”
In other words, I’d be watching NBC Monday nights if Third Watch was on, even in reruns, but I’m not watching “Dog Eat Dog” or whatever the hell is on.
I was wondering myself last night. It says it will be starting again on 9/2/02, but it souds like they will be starting with reruns of the end of last season.
The website is here.
It’s reruns for September, the new season premiere at the end of the month.
The entire reason that NBC didn’t air reruns of the show this summer is because of the A&E syndication bid. They wanted to hold the property back so that it wouldn’t be overplayed when A&E started showing it every night.
Thanks for the info, all. I’ll be looking forward to it. Wish I got A&E so I could revisit some of the old ones. Up here in the desert everything comes in on a translator and we only get the three major networks and whatever channel 13 is in the Los Angeles area.
