Anybody not exited about Star Wars?

I have never seen any of the movies. Doubt if I ever will. Is there anyone else that couldn’t give a rat’s ass about Star Wars?

Me either. I did see the first three films, back when they came out. Once each. Haven’t seen Episode One or Episode Two – and have zero intention of seeing Episode Three.

And this despite my mad crush on Ewan McGregor.

I’ve seen Episodes 4, 5 and 6 more than once. But I never saw Episodes 1 and 2 and really doubt that I’ll see 3.

I was never a real Star Wars fan, a lot of my friends were huge fans which is why I ended up seeing 4-6 three or four times.

I am not, but I am excited.

It’s a big “meh” to me. I’ll probably see it with my SO, who’s a big fan, but I could live just as long and die just as happy without it.

I won’t deny I have certain geeky interests, but somehow Star Wars just never made it onto my radar.

I’ve seen 1, 2, and 3. Saw for 4 and didn’t like like it so I didn’t see 5. Since I didn’t see 5 I wont see 6.

Basically, the sheer clumsiness of every SW movie after The Empire Strikes Back soured me on the franchise. I’ll eventually go to see Revenge of the Sith mainly becaue I’ve seen all the others, but there’s not a movie on earth that I’d stand in line for hours to watch.

Well, except Serenity, maybe. Naw, not even that.

I really couldn’t care less about the new movie, but my daughter is a big fan, so I’ll probably be seeing it this weekend. ::yawn::

Exactly my thoughts too. The 1+2 (or 4+5, depending on how the confounded order goes) movies were grossly over animated and devoid of imagination and plot. I’ll see the new release when it comes to the dollar cinema in about 6 months.

It would seem that racer72 is my long-lost twin. I have never seen any Star Wars and don’t plan to. It’s slightly inconvenient, given the amount of “cultural references” or inside jokes tht the thing seems to engender, but I can live with that.

Meh, i’ll see it at some point, but i’m in no hurry, i’ll wait until the opening week crowds die down, after all, i’ve already been to opening day on the IMPORTANT Sci-Fi film…

I was a big Star Wars fan growing up, playing with my figurines and having “lightsaber” battles with my friends. But I really don’t care if I see this third one or not. The first two were big solid blahs to me. They weren’t great, they weren’t terrible, and as a result, I really don’t have any feelings on this new one. The dollar movie theater sounds like a good idea. It’s cheaper than renting, and I still get a sort of movie experience.

Just stay away from the concession stands. They more than make up for the low ticket prices with the OUTRAGEOUS snack and soda prices. Ten bucks for a large popcorn and soda! Screw that.

I’m a die-hard popcorn hater with a long tradition of hitting up the local gas station on the way to the theater anyway. My only complaint is in regards to the chairs. Would it kill them to put a few springs in them and oil them once in a while?

I really enjoyed the original, feeling that it’s quality and the blossoming “competition” between Spielberg and Lucas signaled a whole new and exciting chapter in film making. But I never got caught up in all the desire to actually be a Star Wars character like so many appeared to and have been less and less interested in each successive movie. I saw the one where the bad guy had a red face but it certainly hasn’t left me willing to actually have to pay to see any others.

It looks like some of us are related! I’ve never seen any of the films, and have no plans to, either. I don’t hate it, don’t have anything against it… just not interested.

I saw the original and thoroughly enjoyed it but had no desire to see the next couple because I didn’t really care how the story played out. By the time Episode 1 came out I had kids who wanted to go so I have seen episodes 1 and 2. After episode 2 my son (who has seen them all several times) and I spent ages working out how the story would progress from 2 to 4, so we will probably see the new one next week. Just to see if we were close.

Yeah I’ll eventually see it. I eventually see every movie.

ME ME ME ME!!!
I even started an “I’m stick to death of Star Wars already” thread in the Pit. And I never do Pit stuff. I’m just so sick of seeing and hearing about it everywhere. It’s gotten to the point of Schadenfrude (or however you spell it - that feeling of happiness at another’s misfortune): I go to bad reviews of Sith on the net and read them with glee.

and no, you don’t ever have to see the movies. I did see the first 3, probably once each. I haven’t seen any of the prequels and probably never will.

I’m so glad you started this thread as I was beginning to doubt my sanity. Note: I’m not interested in the next Harry Potter movie or book either.

(However, anything Lord of the Rings related is another matter entirely…don’t go dissing my lovely lovely LOTR.)

I hated episode 2 - hated it. There is a part of me that says I should see the new one just to complete the series, but I am in no rush. If friends/family want me to go see it with them, fine.
