Anybody playing "Stray"? (Cat game)

I enjoyed Stray. If you want to scratch that itch, “Little Kitty, Big City” just released a demo on Steam. It seems to be more focused on cute, open world gameplay.

Just finished Stray last night and overall I enjoyed it very much. Not a game you really want to choose if you want a hard challenge, as the solutions to most situations/puzzles/problems are obvious. But I didn’t pick it up for that, I just wanted to play a game as a cat, and it delivered. Cohesive story, lots of fun little cat touches - like jumping in cardboard boxes and scratching things - that eventually turn out to have some use in puzzle solving. I loved the music, too.

I have some minor nitpicks and the ending was not 100% satisfying (more like 95%), but overall well worth it!

From a cat perspective, probably no reason, but from a gaming perspective, not entirely no reason. When you nap the camera slowly pans out and shows you a larger picture of your surroundings. Also, the robot guitarist will play the full versions of each song on repeat until you wake up.

Additionally, if you sleep for a cumulative 60 minutes real-time you’ll get an achievement for it.

But really I think the sleep thing is all just a lead-up to the scene near the end of the game where…after B-12 essentially dies after sacrificing himself so that the door to the outside can be unlocked, you curl up next to it and sleep almost as a final goodbye to the friend who made your return to the surface possible.

I’ve just started playing (or, at least, have only played a few hours - I’ve just finished the transmitter and am about to leave the slums.

I hate the run-through-Zurks levels so much. Puzzles involving Zurks, I can do. Just running and dodging, I do not want.

I didn’t hate those levels as much as you, but I didn’t like them either. After doing a couple of them, though, I did appreciate what I thought was their purpose, because I found my adrenaline pumping and heart racing a little after those levels. In a game that is largely sedate and slow-paced, I respect the choice to add some small sections that are more action-oriented, even if they were not my favorites.

I found it helped if I kept thinking of that “I Am Speed” meme on those levels.

Agreed, though I managed to beat the game so they must not be so difficult as to not be doable. I’m bad at that type of thing.

I hated Prince of Persia Warrior Within because it made the main villain chase me at various points.
