Anybody see Batman: Gotham Knight?

Batman: Gotham Knight is an animated anthology movie that bridges Batman Begins and The Dark Knight like The Animatrix did for The Matrix and Reloaded.

And it stank to high heavens.

There are six different segments and the animation in almost all of them is crap. Bruce Wayne looks like a 12 year old anime hero! And he’s voiced by Kevin Conroy (the guy from Batman The Animated Series), so he sounds like a man. It’s ridiculous.

Man, what a waste.

I thought it was okay. I liked the second to last vignette. Particularly the end where Bats can’t reach out his hand for help.

I think that one image summed up his character.

Really? That was my least favorite out of all of them.

I saw it, enjoyed it. Not great art but fun.

So the art style was all over the place? Like it was maybe done by six different directors with totally different visions of what Batman looks like? Amazing!

I didn’t say it was all over the place, I said it was uniformly crap in all of them (except for the last one). There’s a difference.

Amazing if they picked directors with interesting or cool visions of Batman.

I saw it. It sucked. I read some where that it bridges the gap between Begins and Dark Knight but it really doesn’t, the stories could just as easily happened after DK or been part of another continuity altogether. It doesn’t even follow the idea of a more realistic portrayal of Batman and his rogues gallery, you’d think that if they are going to relate these stories with that continuity that they would at least keep that aspect of it.
