Anybody watching Primeval?

I started watching this on DVD and I like it, although many times I do a “WTF” when people will nonchalantly wander around a forest unarmed where they know a saber-toothed cat likes to stop for a gnosh or stroll through a mall having slushees when there’s raptors on the loose. I’m wondering why it was canceled, it seems like a fun show. Was the budget too big or did it just not get the ratings?

Umm, “blagged”?

Sense 1 from here. He bullshitted his way in.

Inveigled. Cozened. Bullshitted. You know, blagged.

Blagged - what they said!

The effects were expensive and ITV are cutting back on pre-watershed (i.e. shown before 9 p.m. and suitable for family viewing) drama because of falling advertising due to the recession.
Fairly sure that’s the reason given, anyway.

Wow, that’s a shame. I’m really enjoying it and speeding through the disks so I will be done with the whole series in a week or two and knowing there is no more makes me a little sad.

I’m a straight female but there is something fascinating about Helen Cutter’s bosoms. Whenever she is on screen the eye is drawn to her cleavage. They look like perfectly round spheres just balanced on her chest, I keep expecting them to just fall out of her shirt and roll around on the floor. I thought they might not be real but in a scene where she’s wearing a robe that shows a bit of skin her cleavage is gone and they seem a bit droopier. So that is some great bra she has, I’d like to know what kind and where she got it. But if I were an explorer running through various time periods being chased by big things that want me for lunch, I wouldn’t bother with a Miracle Bra or stuffing a push up bra with chicken cutlets, give me a good sports bra anytime. Then again I guess that’s how she is able to manipulate men. Really stupid men.

Ummmm, perhaps I need to view again with your comments?

Apparently, SyFy does not share my like of this show. It has been bumped off of prime time for reruns of Warehouse 13, but new eps are being shown 2 hours later. I hope that they at least continue to show new eps up to the bitter end.

For those wot enjoyed this show:

So a few companies getting together to fund a little more of it.

That’s great news. I still have the last couple eps recorded, waiting to watch. So, I don’t know how it currently ends. This latest season is really over the top silly at times, though. Danny Quinn cracks me up how quickly he went from average cop to James Bond-level super agent overnight. Fun stuff though.

Yea!
Thanks for posting the news.
Currently they’re showing S3 nightly here, so I’m watching them all again (unless I’m doing, like, useful stuff!). Danny Quinn makes his first appearance tonight and it’s pissing down outside, so I expect that’s my early evening planned!

I’m glad about this. Without spoiling anything, the last episode of the third series left things unresolved.

Cool. I hated being left with a cliffhanger.

I liked the show. Especially the way they tried not to use dinosaurs every episode. Raptors? eh. Giant insects? Cool!

Also, Hannah Spearitt, Lucy Brown, and especially Laila Rouass? NOM NOM NOM.

So…I gave up on this show at the beginning of season two, and I only started watching this show again in December after Andrew-Lee Potts (who I now have a huge crush on) was in syfy’s Alice and now I’ve seen all but the last two season three episodes. Upon a second viewing I really like this show, even if that poor baby raptor did get et. I’m very glad that they’re bringing the show back for two more seasons, though I wish there’d be more than 13 new episodes between them.

Anyway, I was given a couple of B&N giftcards and bought all four novels, which I haven’t read yet. Has anyone? Some of the X-Files novels were decent and some awful, so I’m not sure what to expect.

On 29 September 2009, it was announced that a deal had been struck between ITV, Watch, Impossible Pictures, German broadcaster Pro7 and BBC Worldwide to produce two new series of the show for transmission in 2011.

Now if we could just get the Brits to lengthen their seasons/series.
