My father is looking for a laptop (a process that is driving me crazy). He wants one with a 12.1 inch monitor, an internal CD/DVD drive, and most importantly, long battery life. There is a Sony, the V505, like that, but he hates the keyboard, not to mention it’s been discontinued. There is a brand new Averatec 3360 that is on sale at CompUSA. Anyone have one of these? Not the tablet, the regular laptop.

Toshibas are better quality and the same or lower price when on sale. As to keyboards anytime I get a notebook I go with a good wireless keyboard and mouse. Keeps drinks and debris away from the notebook and is easier to type on.
I recommend a 12" iBook. apple notebooks are the best.
Of course, it’ll cost you around a grand. You can use the apple student discount and get $100 off the price (whether you’re a student or not :p)
My dad went with a dell, as they had an amazing deal. I wanted him to get an Ibook, but he needs to use software that doesn’t run right on Apples.
