I own a drip coffee maker, but I seldom use it. I find a French press and electric kettle produce better coffee quicker, and the coffee doesn’t get bitter sitting for long periods on a hot plate.
The thermal carafe style drip coffee makers with fresh ground beans make even better coffee I found. I’m not a huge fan of the French Press. I think a good drip general makes better tasting coffee that is easier on my stomach.
But the Hot Plates are the worst idea. Terrible thing to do to even decent coffee.
We have a Capresso 10 cup drip with thermal carafe and an OXO BREW Conical Burr Coffee Grinder
The coffee is great and reheats really well when it does cool off.
Just here to say partner and I also drink hot water after morning caffeine. As for making coffee, I use a Breville Cafe Roma expresso machine; heats up in 3-5 minutes from a cold start and makes steamed milk, too, for double shot Gibraltars, aka Cortados, or Americanos or whatever. Also have an Aeropress but it uses 'way more ground coffee per cup.
