on messageboards? Anytime you notice a poster’s inflated sense of intelligence and rationality, his next paragraph will always reveal explicitly that he’s an engineer. You’ll never miss them, they’ll always let you know. The engineer title is supposed to explain their apparent genius and logic; of course it only explains the ego.
Whoops, I meant to search out some links, first, before posting. Hold on…
I would post a reply pointing out how unintelligent and irrational you are, but I have to go design and build the coolest thing ever in the history of mankind.
A robot monkey butler?
Fuck off, little man.
Well, I can’t have friedo beat me to designing and building the coolest thing ever in the history of mankind. I’ll have to get my robot monkey butler on the project right away!
Gee, UncleBeer, what do you have against robot monkey butlers?
No. A robot Cameron Diaz, french maid outfit included. (anatomically correct, of course for purely aesthetic reasons.)
You’re still using the obsolete robot monkey butler? It’s function is so limited…
Speakings as an arts student, I join in solidarity with the OP.
pizzabrat, thank you. Truly, you have wowed them and shocked them from their arrogant ways with your wit and careful use of exaples to paint an irrefutable and damning picture of Enginarogance.
…slow clap…clap…clap…
What, you don’t think I’m going to put my bending robot on the project, do you? Sweet Zombie Jesus, I can only imagine what sort of horrors he would create …
I’m an engineer, and if you already had intelligence and rationality we wouldn’t be compelled to point out the obvious.
This title clearly authorizes me to display my genius and logic.
Why, just last night, I was able to optimize the loading of my dishwasher to maximize detergent distribution and runoff flow by angling the dinner plates so that they were concave toward the center of the washer, instead of outwards at the sides.
Call it ego if you will, but I’m going to be eating off of crystal clear dinnerware tonight! Booyah!
Now excuse me, my wife is queing the TIVO in a way that suboptimizes our priority list versus our disk space and preferences driving a +13% workload to the unit, potentially shortening the lifespan of our hardware. Will they ever learn?
Insurance actuaries are the same way, but there aren’t enough of us that anyone ever notices.
Thats not fair. Everyone looks down on Art students, not just Engineers.
I hope not. I’d hate to have to associate with the rabble in another line of work.
As a mere engineering student, I am not sure where I rank, so I better keep my mouth shut. I do know that I outrank mathematics majors though.
A couple what? Neither of those posts demonstrate an “inflated sense of intelligence and rationality”, as you so eloquently put it. Other than the mention of being an engieer, they have nothing to do with your OP. Nothing.
Is this what you think about while flipping burgers to pay off the massive debt you incurrred to get a small-college history degree?
No pickles on mine, please.
