I love Ursala Vernon’s art. I wish it wasn’t a pay comic, but I love the characters, the comparative religion and anthropology stuff. Ed’s my favorite and I love the art when he tells stories. (that’s a free page)
I make a point to pimp it every time there’s a webcomics thread around here.
It’s the next one to try on my new to me webcomics list. I like that there is a good backlog of comics that are free so I can have a fair shot at deciding if I want to pay or not.
Every now and then, the entire archive is free. That’s when I got into it - digested the story in a day (around the first time she met the Hag), and have kept current ever since.
Pity about the robbery.
Of course, the rest of Ursula’s art is great too. She also has a book out A friend’s academic book on fairy tale is coming out with Ursala’s Beauty and the Beast as cover.
I read her other two webcomics on graphic smash (both free). Little Creature is adorable. She seems to update her deviantart page more than her homepage. Of course DeviantArt has content filters so you have to be logged in to see things like this (NSFW, unless your boss has no problem with phallic rock formations). For some reason this is also locked. What’s NSFW about packaging design? (… for tampons. Look at it, it’s awesome.)
I love how she has cute little stories for most of her art. this is great just for the art. this wouldn’t be the same without the caption. this wouldn’t make any sense without the text
