Anyone else reading "And Another Thing..."? [NO SPOILERS]

I just finished Eoin Colfer’s entry into the *Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy * series and I have to say I enjoyed it very much, despite a slow start.

It’s written in a different “Voice” to Douglas Adams’ (necessary since he is, sadly, deceased) but the characters are there and behave (more or less) as you’d expect them to, and there are some wonderful meta-acknowledgements that “reader-familiar” technology has changed in the 30 years since Douglas Adams was first writing.

The book’s only been out for a week so I won’t spoil anything other than to say that And Another Thing… is definitely the book Mostly Harmless should have been, it slots in perfectly to the HHGTG “universe”, and I highly recommend it to anyone who liked the other five books in the trilogy.

One caveat, though: Don’t try and read it unless you’ve read those other five books, or it’s not going to make any sense at all.

So, anyone else read it and got any thoughts on it that they’d like to share?
