Anyone else watching Lilyhammer?

Lilyhammer is the first original TV series created by Netflix. The concept behind the show is that a gangster in New York rats out his boss and has witness protection send him to a small town in Norway.

So far we are only a couple episodes into the season but we really like it! We live in New York and we have a special place in our hearts for Scandinavia though so we may be a bit biased about the show because of that. Is anyone else enjoying it as much as we are?

Netflix was advertising it heavily on the tear-off parts of the mailer. I thought it looked interesting so I went to check it out. Not available :(. Apparently it’s basically a plug for their streaming to scare us away from DVD mailing. And I could’ve swore I added it to my queue for when it comes out from exclusivity and now it’s completely gone. Hopefully this will show up on DVD later so that I can participate better.

I watched the first two or three episodes and got bored. Too bad. I had high hopes for it.

I watched the first episode when it came out and never went back for the second.

I watched the first 3 or so episodes, I like it enough that I’ll watch more.

I just finished episode 3 and am liking it so far. Who’d have thought the Sopranos in Norway would turn out to be good.

And I just finished episode 8. This was really good. Frank/Giovanni won a battle, but destroyed his relationship with Sigrid (can’t wait to see how that turns out), and now he & Laila are basicially in a state of MAD).
Was there some reason the older assassin didn’t kill Frank other than some kind of mutual respect? If that was all, it didn’t seem convincing to me. But did I miss something?

Seems foolhardy in any case. There are these things called newspapers and death records etc.
