Anyone ever done a TCA peel at home?

I admit, I didn’t research this as much as I normally would beforehand, because I had a gift certificate.

But when the package arrived, it had some scary pictures of what to expect.

So now, I’m thinking of diluting my 25% solution to 10%; and doing a “lunchtime peel.”

Has anyone done this? Would I be presentable the next day?

No personal experience, but I have a friend who did the whole enchilada. She looked pretty rough for a good week. In fact, I would do it over a vacation if you’re doing the 25% solution.

Sorry…misread your question. I think you only need a day to recover from the lunchtime peel. I always assume things like this will be worse for me than for the rest of the world.

Yeah, the pictures were frightening. Not so much like a “severe sunburn” (their words); more like a third-degree burn! Crusty scabs & stuff. Not cool.

Simulpost; thanks for the edit, Kalhoun. I am assuming the same. I have been using crushed aspirin paste (salicylic acid) for years now; it doesn’t peel so much as – well, it’s like sanding yourself. Great for feet too.

But I can’t have a week down!

I use Nutrogena Advanced Solutions, but it’s pretty lightweight. I’d like to try a professional peel. Since I work from home, I could do “horrifying” a little easier than the average woman. How much do these things cost??

I paid like fifty bucks for an ounce of 25% solution at Amazon. (from one of their “partners.”) That is supposed to be enough for many, many treatments. If you go to Yavonae’s own website, it looks like they’re having a sale. Warning: DO NOT use 50% undiluted.
How did your friend look after she healed?
