I didn’t get to play Ultima online when it was out due to not having decent online or a good enough PC to play it and by the time I did EverQuest hit it big
But I found this on a facebook post and I’m going to try it
I wondered how authentic to the original experience of it and just general tips and the like
Huh, I had no idea Ultima Online was still a thing.
I’ll add a follow-up; Did Richard Garriot ever publish the new Ultima game he was supposed to be working on? The not-a-sequel, but wholly new game featuring the Avatar. Seems like if it came out, it was a failure. I’ve heard no talk about it.
well ive been playing it off and on for a while and other than the server I’m on being empty meaning there’s too many moms in places it’s not that bad
but the graphics are ancient and I can see why people loved the QOL improvements in EverQuest… i mean a lot of things are too fiddly or specific if you have 50 different things to sell say some weapons … some jewelry ect you have to go to each type. They only buy things to do with the stated craft … so gems to the jewelry weapons to the weapons guy and armor to the armor guy …
and it seems that they have “supermonsters” like a lot of MMOs did back then like I was in a graveyard killing skeletons and 1 out of 5 would just be able to kick the crap out of me and take forever to kill but he was just a run of the mill skeleton …
Also, things important things are broken like paying for skill training …and there’s no defense or damage numbers on the swords and armor …
and money’s easy to get…even if someone didn’t hand me a 100k check …
